Nergal is the codename of a former Chechen insurgent from Taemeron Earth. He’s the leader of an underground organization. And under the belief that the Soviet Union (later the Russian Federation) was nothing that the enslavers of his people and the only way that each ethnic group must have its own nationstate that they can govern themselves.
Biography[]
The origin of Nergal it's often overseen as there a large halo of mystery, and while modern-day intelligence reports coincided that Nergal's actions dated back to some time between XXXXNE (1946 LT) and XXXXNE (1949 LT) the truth is that Nergal's life dated long before the 20th century, in fact Nergal criminal history dated back to the year XXXXNE (1794 LT).
Early Life[]
Nergal history started back in XXXXNE (1783 LT), before he was even borned, his would be in the future father was a former Chechen Teip, a name used to describe the various Chechen clans that inhabitated the various territories from modern-day Chechnya and he had an idea that was innovative at the time in this part of the globe, the formation of a unified Chechen nation-state, this idea went to the point that he influenced other Teip's leaders to ally with other clans and eventually declare a country. But this wishes we sent down the drain when the Russian Empire fully annexed the Caucasus, a rebellion was sparked in XXXXNE (1794 LT) by Mansur Ushurma and while he was apprehended his father fight off the Russian Armies under the pretence of defending its homeland, however it's ideas vanished-partly as in (1814 LT), the Russian Empire annexed Chechnya. And when he died Nergal influenced by the nationalist element of the Chechen struggle against the Russians, often carried on with it’s wishes and dedicated its life to fight for the Chechen people in the shadows which were only strengthen with the rise of the european nationalisms in the XIX century were the concept of "One people, one state" was formed and would fight of in every conflict that revolved around the region from peasants protests, to large scale conflict like the Russian Civil War.
World War II[]
However one of most important moments in it's life happened in 1941 during Operation: Barbarossa in which Nazi Germany sent agents to Chechnya in order to cause a chechen uprising against the Soviet Union, this plan while seen as a liberty gateway, Nergal didn't liked it because while he was detractor of the idea of Chechnya being part of the Soviet Union he knew that the German wouldn't keep his promise an they will integrate Chechnya as Nazi Protectorate instead of the fully independent Chechnya that the population desired, so with its forces he helped the Red Army in expel the Axis Armies from the Caucasus and as a gratitude present the officer in charge of the Soviet forces in the Caucasus would propose Nergal the creation of a new Soviet Federative republic by the name of the North Caucasus Federative Soviet Socialist Republic and seek approval from the government, while it wasn't the independent Chechen state that he was originally wishing it was a step in the right direction, the problem is that Stalin didn't liked the proposal so he ordered the officer's assassination and more than 5,000 North Caucasus ethnicities, among them were 2,700 Chechen including Nergal and it's most loyal men were deported to the Gulags in Siberia and Central Asia.
Becoming immortal[]
Nergal was now helpless not only because every one of the individuals capable of helping him with it’s cause is gone, but also because he was getting old, his body was aching, and he was starting to find difficult even to stand up without some kind of aid, he had tried to extend it's life back in the by using spices and herbs from it’s home region, but in the gulag he couldn't do anything and he didn't know for how long he would stand, fast forward 3 years later to 1946 were he met a Nazi scientist who for some unknown reason wanted Nergal to escape with him. Nergal agreed just as he could escape from the gulag and in March 17 they escaped to soviet occupied east Germany were they made a scalestop in the scientist's lab. Here the scientist knocked out Nergal and strapped him to a stretcher, Nergal’s confusion was big but everything became clearer when the scientist pulled out a syringe with an unknown serum. Nergal was scared as he didn’t know knew what would happen and as the serum was being injected was painful he felt how his bones were contracting, it’s skin was being pulled, it’s tendons we’re being knotted, it was as if something inside him was playing with his body parts from within. When the pain subsided Nergal felt fresh, The aching in it's muscles was gone, the flesh that was hanging from its arms return to it’s place, their bones were fresh, basically he felt the exact same way back when he was in its 30's. The scientist explained that the serum that he made was meant to for the führer as a way to stop aging at a biological level but w the führer gone the only one interested in it would be the western allies and after a lot of time the serum had worked out now all that was left was to cross to western Germany and surrender to the western allies, it’s lab rat however had other ideas. With the chance of dying from old age nullified he knew that he can now enact it’s revenge towards the Russian enslavers and liberate Chechen people, so he shot the scientist from behind and after stealing all of the scientist's researches that he could take with him among which the immortality serum's formula and burned the whole lab down to hide it's tracks.
Forming Black Veil[]
Nergal's actions in it's new life we're minimum at first as he only dedicated to restore its forces back from the times of 1943, but he seemed to lack a motivation for it’s men to fight as some of them seemed difficult to liberate its homeland, but said motivation came in 1949 when under the ideas of zionism that was fresh on the mind of the jews, the state of Israel was proclaimed and it became evident for what they will fight for. Nergal had known about zionism for quite some time and he knew that it centered around the idea that Jews were a national group and as such they must have it’s own state on it’s promised land. And while Nergal didn’t have anything against the Jews having its own country, that put him to think; Chechens, Tartars, Kurds, Assyrians, Palestinians, Ossetians, Balkars, Yiddish, Uyghurs, Tuaregs, Igbo, Basques, Romanis, etc. Each of these groups are their own people, so according to the logic of zionism they should have their own state. But then he remembered that the Circassians had it's own state, how it was invaded by the Russians, how the russians committed genocide against the Circassians and how they forced them to live exiled in turkey and he lastly remembered how the world just fucking watched everything happened and did nothing about it. This ultimately defined Nergal group's cause now renamed as 'Black Veil' they’ll fight so that every ethnic group can have it’s own state, ignored by the world but now it was time for them to 'speak for those who have no voice'.
Cold War[]
From that they on it's organization served as a third party throughout most of the Cold War carrying out terrorist attacks on a much larger scale and gaining control by benefiting from both sides of a conflict. It is speculated that Black Veil was involved in one way or another with the assassination of President Kennedy in 1961. However it’s biggest plan up-to-date consisted on taking advantage of a plot made by DRFLA’s (full: Democratic Revolutionary Front for the Liberation of Arabistan) plot to takeover the Iranian embassy in London, they provide intelligence and weapons to the terrorists which were sold by one its associates and while the world had its eyes on the crisis is Nergal will get its hands on a Soviet nuke by using its contacts inside the KGB. The idea of the plot was to detonate the nuke somewhere around the Sino-Afghan Border and making it see that the Soviet high command was starting to get frustrated as they and the Soviet backed communist government were having trouble in defeating the mujahideens and so decided to heat things up and the reason of why Nergal is planning to do it on Afghanistan’s border with China rather than with the Soviet Union is to spark a war between the two communist powers and subsequently taking advantage of the conflict to cause revolutions among the Soviet and China’s ethnic minorities. This plan ultimately broke down as one of it’s deputies got captured in Oman by the CIA when it was discussing the payment of the weapons that was given to the DRFLA. Eventually they found out its plot and ‘Black Veil’ had to go underground again. Nergal was angry a this plan would’ve been the motivation that the Chechens needed to rise up and gain the independence that a large population of the Chechens were desiring. But he also felt admiration for one of operators that were sent to stop his plan, it was named ‘Karan’ and he became ‘the first socially accepted superhero’ and the reason behind why individuals that have superpowers no longer suffer persecution and become full fledged members of society. To the point that he exposed an underground Agency belonging to the U.S. department of defense and personally teaching individuals with powers on how to control them. The reason of why Nergal admired him was because Karan did those things by it’s own will independently of a person gender, ethnicity, nationality, etc.
First Chechen War[]
From here Black Veil passed onto another phase inactivity but this one was relatively shorter because of one incident, the Soviet Union had collapsed and on November 1st, 1991, The All-National Congress of the Chechen People with it’s leader Dzhokhar Dudayev declared Chechen Republic of Ichkeria an independent state from the Russian Federation and Nergal as an ethnic Chechen had to serve. Nergal did play an important role in the First Chechen War by supplying the rebels with weapons and equipment through to its various contacts. And once the russian forces were expelled he got involved into Chechen politics and got himself to be a de facto member of the Chechen National Congress, however this would end as while Nergal and some other individuals wanted to restore the newly proclaimed independent country and their ideas revolved around the Chechen nationalism, most of the political leaders have a more religious focus and call in terrorists from Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia proclaiming the conflict a Jihad, radicalizing the conflict. This caused a division inside the chechen politics which only got worse when Aslan Maskhadov and Shamil Basayev incentivated for the most radical sectors of the Chechen population to invade its neighbor, The republic of Dagestan. This was meant to consolidate its emirate but this invasion horribly backfire as the local population instead of perceiving them as their liberators they perceived the Chechens as a bunch of Religious fanatics and the Chechens were forced to withdraw after a month of the invasion. In Nergal's eyes those two doomed the Chechen people as Daguestan was still part of Russia and while he supported the idea of annexing some of Dagestan's land, they were only centered on the south as the idea was to have access to the Caspian Sea in order to replace the hostage taking as the main source of income for the independent Chechnya but still the plan he made consisted on a discrete occupation of the south and later the formation of a pipeline, however in its place there was a disastrous assault that it only served as a way to antagonize the Chechens and give Russia a reason of why should intervine again in Chechnya, however this time was harder as the Russian had a trick under it's sleeve.
Second Chechen War[]
During the invasion of Dagestan there were some Chechens that were equipped with gear and weapons who were bought from Black Veil and during the invasion those same Chechens killed a family that belonged to a Russian superhero named "Regenizard" who was very infamous for killing criminals even for the slightest of crimes and his family was the only thing that managed to keep him on the line but with it's family death that killer instinct that seemed to be gone re-emerge and killed the two Chechens; He cut off both of his arms and later tore off a large piece of his jugular vein and grabbed the other's wrists and broke his back, later he asked about the origin of his weapons and equipment. The Chechen, fearing for his life, he told everything he knew and as a prize "Regenizard" ripped his lower jaw off. Subsequently the Russian forces entered Chechnya once again, this time they were bombarding and raging through everything that standed in it's way, most noticeable was "Regenizard" who driven by revenge killed everyone no matter what. In a matter of weeks the Russian forces found themselves fighting in Grozny, Nergal knowing the fall of the city order its men to destroy every bit of information that might give them away and later escape to the Caucasus mountains to organize a resistance, however this never materialized as Regenizard plow through everything just to kill him. Nergal managed to confront him as while him carved his own path and fought more motivated, Regenizard followed it's wrath being driven by revenge, but in the end Regenizard caught Nergal and bring down the whole building on top of Nergal. Nergal bruced and recognizing it's defeat extended it's arm hoping for Regenizard to help him, after all he was a prisoner of war and he needed to be treated as such (as although they were the 'bad guys' they treated Russian P.O.Ws as they would treat them.). But the reality was very different as while Regenizard did grab Nergal's hand, but it wasn't for the purpose of helping him out instead he proceeded to rip of from Nergal's arm, Nergal screamed in pain. Nergal tried to escape and even tried to protect himself, all in vain as Regenizard broke his right leg, ripped off his right arm and started to slash out Nergal, causing him to faint due to the pain and the blood loss.
In the void[]
When Nergal woke up he found himself in someplace that he didn’t recognize although he knew for a start that it wasn’t death, this place was the dimensional void, a place between universes that acts as a database for all things that exists and used to exist not only from a single universe but for every existing universe, The things from things that are familiar from the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. To things that someone could have overheard like the ten lost tribes of Israel alongside of who they were, what were their names and their physical characteristics. Passing through things that were totally unknown to one, as this things that would completely unknown to someone because they are from another universe. Nergal explored this place for what he felt like five centuries, he got a pair of cybernetic arms and from a bookshelf he retrieved a blank book and record everything he could before he returned to it’s body.
Modern day[]
Nergal woke up in a stretcher confused of what had happened as he saw that he still got the book and the arms from his time in the dimensional void, this surprised the members of Black Veil more as what he had felt like five centuries in the void, he had spent 16 years on comma in the real world. This shocked Nergal but it gave him more information about the place he had spent his time. But he could not process it as he knew the bad news.
Firstly, The Russian president made a deal with the chechen warlord Akhmad Kadyrov and had wiped off a resistance to the Russian invasion and the terror reign caused by the Kadyrovsty has caused for the Chechen population to give up on independence.
Second, Regenizard the same one who ‘killed’ him went on a personal mission to hunt down every Chechen outside of Chechnya approximately 100,000 Chechens were killed by Regenizard making so that some zones that the Chechen presence was considerable was reduced to none almost like some kind of ethnic cleansing.
And lastly; Regenizard, the same on who killed and tortured a P.O.W., caused for the Chechens to excluded to Chechnya and the same one who help to establish a puppet government. Was received as a hero in Russia even the actual Chechen president, Ramzan Kadyrov built a statue in its honor.
This angered Nergal to the point that something inside of him snapped possibly because they had almost the same as the Jews (ethnic persecution, discrimination and genocide). The only difference is that their butcher is seen as the ‘good guy’ , while all Chechens are seen as the ‘bad guys’. But just like what happened with the Circassians, the Tibetans, the Uyghurs, the Palestinians, etc. The world just fucking watched while this things are happening to them and taking care of those who don’t need or didn’t deserve said ‘special treatment’.
From this point this is were it’s past self died and Nergal was born, it’s face hidden behind it’s helmet and ‘Black Veil’ adding to its quest the the liberation and representation of all the peoples that exist and existed in the past; but also a desire for revenge not only for Regenizard, Not only for Russia, but towards the worlds hypocrisy and injustice towards those ones who have no voice.
