- The Arachnids massacre the colonists at Port Joe Smith on the planet Dantana, which was located deep inside the Arachnid Quarantine Zone.
- John D. Rico, Carl Jenkins, Dizzy Flores and Carmen Ibanez enroll in the Federation.
- The Arachnids send a bug meteor to Riuuliua Earth hitting Buenos Aires, which kills and injures millions of people.
- The United Citizen Federation goes to war in retaliation marking the beginning of the First Bug War, starting with the Federal Armed Services launching an invasion of the Arachnids' home planet Klendathu, which ends in catastrophic loss.
- The UCF makes first contact with the Alliance of Nations on Kelndathu during the battle, forming strong relations of their advance military technologies and swiftly taken out the Bugs on the majority and saving many lives.
- Military Intelligence confirms suspicions of the existence of the Brain Bug. The Mobile Infantry are sent back to Planet P to capture the Brain Bug, which they successfully do ensuring a massive victory for the Federation
