Adam was an Angel from the Haei'tuusik Universe where was He was the first of a new human race created by God after the supposed genocide of the previous human civilization from her crusade, he was also the first human soul to enter Heaven. After becoming an angel, he became the commander of the angelic military force known as Exorcists, and served Heaven as forerunner of the Extermination movement. Given command by his creator to lead the yearly Exterminations, where he seeks to kill as many Sinners as possible in Hell for sadistic entertainment and to avoid them becoming strong enough to uprise against Heaven. He is the ex-husband of Lilith Morningstar, who left him for Lucifer Morningstar before they were banished into Hell for obtaining the knowledge and the secret of Humanity's past, yet continued to serve Heaven out of loyalty but fear of his creator.

Upon the arrival of the Entities from beyond his home universe over a proposal of a challenge to prove if Hell failed to show redeeming qualities, they will be wiped out, Adam agreed in the bet, yet unaware at the time that it would result in his entire reality be destroyed until it was discovered in the trial. After the death of God by The Hunter during the challenge, Adam, now unsure what else to do, took whatever loyalist of God remain and launched a assault against the Happy Hotel, resulting in the Battle of the Hazbin Hotel, he fought Charlie Morningstar in battle and then with Lucifer until he was ironically killed by Niffty.
