"You’re an ugly motherfucker." – Dutch when face to face with the Yautja (Jungle hunter) before self destruct.
Major Alan Schaefer, better known as "Dutch", was the leader of the Catachan Jungle Fighters of the Alliance of Nations. Dutch was a specialist in guerrilla engagements and had been posted in the Battle in Catachan, alongside Al Dillon. Dutch was an intelligent and resourceful leader and was both liked and respected by the men under his command. His extensive experience in the military had made him gruff and battle-hardened, but at the same time he was always sure to protect his team from unnecessary risks and always adhered to his strict moral code to only undertake rescue missions.
He was the only survivor of his small group when they faced a single predator. Dutch beat the predators thermal vision by encasing himself in mud allowing him an advantage. Through luck alone Dutch managed to beat the Predator in melee combat if somewhat, he just barely managed to escape from the explosive device in the Yautja's wrist.

After joining the Catachan Jungle Fighters, he was often attached to units on missions fighting Yautja preadors or sometime joining Yautja's on missions exterminating Xenomorpths or Arachnids - sometimes both
