The Andromeda Galaxy, also known as Messier 31, M31, or NGC 224 and originally the Andromeda Nebula is a Galaxy and know for being the closet to the Milky Way Galaxy approximately 2.5 million light-years. The Andromeda Galaxy is one of the many galaxies found to exist in a variety of universes and many versions throughout the Multiverse.
The galaxy's name stems from the area of a local Local sky in which it appears, the constellation of Andromeda, which itself is named after the Ethiopian (or Phoenician) princess who was the wife of Perseus in Greek mythology.
According to common knowledge among scientists and astronomers, it is told that the Andromeda and the Milky Way are to expected to collide into each other around 4-5 billion years, merging to form a giant elliptical galaxy or a large lenticular galaxy.
Known versions the Andromeda Galaxy[]
- In the Duyi'zu Universe, the Andromeda was becoming uninhabitable with rising radiation to which life in that galaxy would perish in 10,000. One of the local species of that galaxy known as the Kelvans sent out many generation ships to other galaxies to inhabit.
- The Andromeda Galaxy from the Vuytti Universe is the origin of the Vedrans, the first interstellar species to have developed slipstream capability. Upon the Vedran empire's transformation into the Systems Commonwealth, it continued to be most important galaxy in the Local Group, the commonwealth was one that was led by the Vedrans. After the fall of the Systems Commonwealth, it was the home of the most powerful interstellar power, that of the Drago-Kazov Pride.
- In the Maecel'eqaauvi and it’s related universes, the Andromeda is the home galaxy of the Skrulls.
