Alynna Nechayev was a female Human from the Duyi'zu Universe who served in the Federation Starfleet. Throughout the War in the Beta Quadrant between the Duyi'zu 2360s and 2370s, she was a prominent figure in the Starfleet admiralty.
Personality[]
Nechayev was fond of Bularian canapés and, in 2380, offered some to Captain Picard as a peace offering just as he had offered some to her ten years earlier aboard the Enterprise-D.
Biography[]
In 2369, (1515 NE) while serving as a Vice Admiral, she ordered Picard to relinquish command of the USS Enterprise-Dto Captain Edward Jellico, the latter having experience with Cardassians in the past and having worked to establish the original armistice ending the conflict between the Federation and the Cardassian Union during the Beta Quadrant War. She assigned Picard to a special operation to infiltrate a Cardassian installation on Celtris III. After Jellico's negotiations with Gul Lemec worsened, she authorized his actions against the Cardassian warships in the McAllister C-5 Nebula, at the risk of provoking open war and abandoning Picard.
Later that year, Nechayev paid another visit to the Enterprise-D. Nechayev believed that Picard was too soft-handed in his dealings with Federation adversaries. She cited in particular his refusal to use Hugh as a carrier to introduce an invasive program into the Borg Collective. When she commanded the Starfleet task forces assembled in response to attacks by the rogue Borg led by Lore, she ordered Picard to deploy the program should another opportunity avail itself. Her flagship at the time was the USS Gorkon.
She recalled a meeting with Anakin Skywalker and recalled him being unlike most Jedi she knew, but admit to being a very skilled war tactician in the Clone Wars from reading his history and had a rough relationship as well as Picard.
She had married by 2380 (1526 NE), the wedding being a small ceremony. She admitted to Jean-Luc Picard that Nechayev women were rather controlling, and had to practically elope to ensure her mother couldn't take over the wedding plans.
