Rex Tano

Rex Tano, original called CT-7567 was a veteran clone trooper captain who led the Grand Army of the Republic's acclaimed 501st Legion during the Clone Wars. Bred and trained on Kamino, 7567 entered into Republic service at the Battle of Geonosis in 1411 NE. He gained respect as an honorable commander from officers and troopers alike, becoming known as one of the best and toughest clone troopers in the Army. 7567 was even selected for special command training under Advanced Recon Commando Alpha-17, following which he took the nickname "Rex."

As the captain of the 501st, Rex served as second-in-command to Jedi General Anakin Skywalker, whose bravery and unorthodoxy in battle he came to share. He was close friends with Marshal Commander Cody, with their relationship mirroring that of their respective Jedi Generals, Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. The four of them often received joint assignments to coordinate front-line campaigns against the Confederacy and later the Axis of Empires.

Siege of Mandalore

Rex was onboard the Resolute news of the war growing worse after a unknown alien race known as the Combine invaded the galaxy, discussing battle tactics to learn about this new foe who had aligned themselves with the Separatists to escalate the war, He was assigned to help retake Mandalore from these invaders who had just recently conquered the planet in a rapid assault.

Republic-Imperial Conflict

It was to his shock among others to find a more advance Star Destroyer representing the Galactic Empire from another universe, Rex among his squad were warned by Ashoka that they were hostile and instantly proven when the Star Destroyer launched an assault on the Republic vessel, thrown into the first conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Galactic Empire. Coming into combat with their Stormtrooper, while assumed to be alternate clones when in fact were human and not as skilled as the Clones. Infiltrated their ship and forced their way into the bridge to force the imperials’ surrender and for answers. He was greeted with surprise by some to call the Clone Troopers as ‘relics’ from the war, puzzled by his statement, Ashoka then found some astonishing information about their origins and shared it with the others that the Imperials aren’t just from another parallel world of their own, but almost 20 years ahead of their timeline. Rex took the data and read it, he was horrified to learn that the Empire was founded after the end of the Clone Wars with the he help of the Clone Troopers betraying the Jedi they sworn to serve. Believing this must have happened on orders of Palpatine had Anakin not stopped him.

Personality

Gruff, no-nonsense, and tough as carbonite nails, the elite CT-7567 was an aggressive and battle-scarred^] veteran of the Clone Wars.Hardened by countless engagements with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, Rex—as he chose to be named—retained a reputation as one of the best and toughest clone troopers in the galaxy. Freethinking, fearless, and resilient, he preferred to be more diplomatic than the headstrong Advanced Recon Commandos when it came to operating with his superiors, though he would not hesitate to give higher-ranking Jedi officers his blunt opinion. He regarded his assignments with the utmost priority, and true to his genetic engineering, he often put them before his own safety, recognizing the importance of doing his part to ensure an objective's completion. A cunning warrior who was versed in military strategy, Rex led from the front and, in some cases, would have fought ahead of his Jedi General, Anakin Skywalker.
