The Centran Defence Force (CDF) is the interstellar national unified military of the Centrum Assembly in the Sohaurr Universe. Built around fleets of sophisticated combat vessels, the CDF also comprises the Centran Marine Corps and Centran Provost Corps, fulfilling both expeditionary warfare and internal policing duties.

Marine Corps[]
The Centran Marine Corps is the exoatmospheric naval infantry and expeditionary military branch of the Centran Defence Force. Centran marines provide security aboard Centran Defence Force ships and installations, and also serve as assault troops in boarding actions and combat shore parties. Centran marines are trained and equipped for operations in both zero-gravity and a variety of diverse environments, and are renowned across the Tantalus Cluster for their physical aptitude and discipline. Their reputation held up across the multiverse for their actions in various wars and combating many far more powerful opponents.
For many wars, including the Sohaurr War, Chaos Wars, Remnant Wars, Allied Civil War, and Infection War, the CMC fought venerably against its many opponents and threats to the Alliance. However, with the United Civilizations eventually being reorganized into the Multiversial Federation in 3642 NE, the Centran Marine Corps was absorbed into the greater Multiversial Federal Marine Corps. However, many of the Corps' traditions still carried on well into the age of the Federation.
Provost Corps[]
The Centran Provost Corps is the land-based military and gendarmerie branch of the Centran Defence Force. The Provost Corps acts as a police and surface garrison force on the planets of the Centrum Assembly. In this role it acts essentially as a territorial army, however the Provost Corps has rarely been deployed offensively and is instead used to maintain civic security.
Certain officers of the Provost Corps are responsible for managing courts-martial and controlling military justice within the CDF. The Provost Corps was previously responsible for policing the space around Drift Gates to intercept criminal spacecraft, but after the Assembly gained access to Kleiner-Freeman-Vance drives and the gates became defunct, the Corps became involved in other duties to intercept the evolving criminal underworld's efforts.
The Provost Corps was the only part of the Centran Defence Force to not be absorbed into the Federal Armed Forces following the creation of the Multiversial Federation, and it continues to serve as both Sohaurr’s in-universe police force and a sub-branch of the Department of Justice’s Federal Gendarmerie.
Discovery Service[]
The Centran Discovery Service is an extremely small non-combat division of the Centran Defence Force. The Discovery Service, as the name implies, was previously responsible for the leading the exploration, colonization, and study of star systems in the Tantalus Cluster. Their roles were minor, and the starships affiliated with the division were usually converted into mainline warships after their tenure of service ended. After the Sohaurr War, the Tantalus Cluster had been completely researched and remotely explored by the Allied Joint Colonization Organization. The Discovery Service eventually became part of the AJCO to remain active and continue to serve its role, albeit in other universes.
