The Centran Marine Corps (CMC) is the marine infantry and space expeditionary warfare force of the Centrum Assembly's defense forces in the Sohaurr Universe and campaigns beyond. Centran marines provide security aboard Centran Defence Force ships and installations, and also serve as assault troops in boarding actions and combat shore parties. Centran marines are trained and equipped for operations in both zero-gravity and a variety of diverse environments, and are renowned across the Tantalus Cluster for their physical aptitude and discipline. Their reputation held up across the multiverse for their actions in various wars and combating many far more powerful opponents.
For many wars, including the Sohaurr War, Chaos Wars, Remnant Wars, Allied Civil War, and Infection War, the CMC fought venerably against its many opponents and threats to the Alliance. However, with the United Civilizations eventually being reorganized into the Multiversial Federation in 3642 NE, the Centran Marine Corps was absorbed into the greater Multiversial Federal Marine Corps. However, many of the Corps' older Alliance traditions still carried on well into the age of the Federation.

Most starships in the Centran Defence Force possess a sizeable complement of marines for various purposes, including anti-piracy, ship-to-surface deployments, shows of force, and shipboard security. The larger starships in the CDF have complements as large as fifty marines. Each unit operates independently, and has their own logo of their ship detachment.
Shipboard marine groups are typically trained for anti-gravity and close-quarters combat, to deal with the sometimes zero-gravity and compact hallways of the Centran starships. Combat got easier with the upgrades of both ships and soldiers following first contact. Tragically, especially on frontline ships, the marine complement has little combat experience due to the rarity of ship boarding with many enemy faction across the multiverse, who simply opt to destroy the ship altogether.
