The Federation of Unified Worlds was a galaxy-spanning alliance of interstellar nations and other factions within the Khardi'arzuun Universe.
History[]
Founding[]
The Federation of Unified Worlds was formed during the Third Multiverse War in 4255 NE (2955 Khardi'arzuun), though were completely unaware of the wider multiverse's existence. The Federation quickly grew to colossal size within its universe, spanning across the galaxy and coming to accept a number of factions as members and encompassing many races, including humans.
Contact with the Wider Multiverse[]
Unified Worlds-TransRace War[]
Main article: Unified Worlds-TransRace War |
In the rapid imperialist expansion of the TransRace Empire during the Third Multiverse War, ruthless conquests fell upon any universes known or discovered by the TransRace's vast legions of soldiers.
Such a fate fell upon the Khardi'arzuun Universe, with the Federation initially detecting strange messages from the border world of Huxian on July 9th, 2959 (4259 NE). Believing it to be minor disturbances, a scout vessel from the Unified Civil Peacekeeping Department was dispatched to the world but disappeared immediately. Before its destruction, the vessel transmitted a single image of TransRace Empire warships in orbit of Huxian.
Assuming the TransRace were an undiscovered star nation from within their galaxy, a diplomatic vessel accompanied by a squadron of corvettes was sent to reason with the new contact but were destroyed as well. These opening attacks became known as the Huxian Disaster. The TransRace Empire sent a galaxy-wide transmission through Federation space, declaring their conquest of this universe and advising them to surrender or see their worlds razed.
In response to the Empire's promise of war, an emergency meeting of the Federal Senate was held, in which both the Senate and the Citizen-Representative agreed on the threat of the TransRace Empire and declared war in return, beginning the Unified Worlds-TransRace War.
A lack of understanding of their multiversal foe would prove fatal for the Federation's efforts early in the war. Due to multiversal travel, the TransRace fleets were able to completely circumvent faster-than-light travel lanes and jump an entire fleet directly to the Federation's capital world of Monument. A bombardment ensued that destroyed all settlements and installations outside Federation City, with the TransRace Empire opting to capture the city instead of destroying it, hoping to capture the Federal Senate and the Citizen-Representative in order to force a surrender.
TransRace force began striking at the city's outskirts in the early morning hours of July 28th, 4959 NE, being careful with bombardments to only target key locations and defense positions. With the city's main urban centers lost in a matter of hours and at risk of losing too many troops, the FGM declared a tactical retreat to prevent further losses. Federation forces continued streaming into the system to reinforce until the retreat order was given. The local Unified Civil Peacekeeping Department forces were overwhelmed and quickly forced underground by the TransRace forces, though they remained active in the city for the next several years in an underground resistance movement against the occupation.
Ultimately, casualties during the retreat were minimized, but contact with remaining Federation units was lost. Nevertheless, the Galactic Military was able to extract some of its most experienced fighters, along with TransRace defectors and civilians who sought to join the FGM after witnessing the devastation of the planet. Overall, the Federation was now pushed to the brink. Monument would be held for the remainder of the war up until its recapture over six years later when the war ended.
Fortunately, the Federal Senate and Citizen-Representative had been safely evacuated from Monument. The diplomatic cruiser Federal One became the home of Federation leadership for the remainder of the war, always remaining on the move with its location kept a complete secret to even the most high-ranking Federal Galactic Military officers. The TransRace Empire had vastly underestimated the size and coordination of the Galactic Military. Though the TransRace Empire was able to annex over 50% of Federation territory following the capture of Monument, critical military installations and assets were evacuated, destroyed, or moved to safer locations, allowing Federation forces to regroup easily and begin planning a counteroffensive during the lull in the war.
Federation representatives scattered to the far reaches of the settled galaxy, finding other factions and rallying armies to assist the Federation's war effort while a number of precise counterstrikes crippled Imperial operating capabilities. Several crippling and costly defeats took out large portions of the Empire's warships, and with any possible reinforcements occupied in the Third Multiverse War, they would not be replenished.
Spying on TransRace communications, the Multiversal Federation discovered the war and deployed a fleet of ships to assist. Though FUW leadership was initially confused by their sudden arrival, and initially believed them to be TransRace reinforcements, they accepted the help, allying themselves with them Multiversal Federation as a joint push began to take out the last Empire-occupied territory. Though it took two long years to retake it all, the Federations forced the TransRace fleets out of FUW space until only Monument remained under the Empire's control.
Blocked off on all sides and with no reinforcements coming, many of the TransRace forces left the universe, viewing the campaign as lost, or simply surrendered to Federation forces at the first opportunity. What little forces remained, though considerable and determined to stay, were alone. Without supplies being delivered from outside the universe, Federation forces postponed the assault for three months, hoping to starve out the defenders and attack when they were at their weakest.
On September 16th, 4265 NE, the Federations launched a charge assault on the planet, hoping to use speed and surprise to take out the weary defenders as soon as possible. A blitzkrieg in orbit quickly eliminated the woefully outnumbered ships in orbit within the first few hours. Federation ground troops landed in force on the outskirts of Federation City and slowly began pushing in towards the center of the city, with air and orbital support devastating the Empire's fortifications.
Fighting would continue into the evening as the last of the Empire's forces rallied around the tallest skyscraper in the city, while any others were picked off by Federation troops. A final desperate defense was swiftly defeated, the remaining Imperial troops surrendering before midnight. The Empire's remaining commanders were captured and taken to Federal One and with the Citizen-Representative, signed the Treaty of Monument, officially ending the Unified Worlds-TransRace War with a FUW/Multiversal Federation victory.
Member Status with the Multiversial Federation[]
In the aftermath of the Unified Worlds-TransRace War, the FUW was allowed to keep its sovereignty, but as they learned more about the nature of the multiverse and its most dominant factions, the FUW elected to become full members within the Multiversial Federation in the same year after only a short period as associates, and were completely dissolved into the Federation after only a short ten-year existence.
Government[]
Leadership[]
Presidency[]
Being a democracy, the Federation holds regular scheduled elections every five years to decide the next leader of the Federation. The leader of the Federation is known as a "Citizen-Representative," and their role while in office is to work for the betterment of the entire Federation. Each Citizen-Representative serves a term of five years once elected, and can run for reelection again, but can only serve a maximum of three terms.
A Vice Citizen-Representative is always chosen by a running candidate for Citizen-Representative, serving as a right-hand position and replacement in the event of the acting Citizen-Representative's death or resignation.
Federal Senate[]
Main article: Federal Senate |
The sheer size of the Federation as it grew over time warranted the creation of the Federal Senate, a large council of senators, one from each faction in the Federation, as well as representatives from each officially recognized religion in the Federation, to vote on any number of decisions in the Federation. Though the Citizen-Representative usually has overseeing authority of the senate, decisions are most commonly made in favor of their opinion, though the Citizen-Representative has to power to overturn any motion put forth by the senate if he deems it necessary, and vice-versa.

Military[]
Main article: Federal Galactic Military |
The Federal Galactic Military operated as the unified military of the Federation. Well-funded, the FGM was usually put into reduced operational status in peacetime. In wartime, decisions were usually made to direct more funding to the FGM and the military is fully activated. the Federal Galactic Military consisted of billions of individuals at full operation, along with millions of warships and vehicles, as well as several hundred million more held in reserves to be brought into active service, though after the Unified Worlds-TransRace War, the FGM was dissolved and its assets and personnel spread across the Multiversial Federation.
Law Enforcement[]
Main article: Unified Civil Peacekeeping Department |
Though the scale of law enforcement varies across the federation, the Unified Civil Peacekeeping Department (UCPD) acts as the major policing body of the Federation. Their presence at a location often depends on the scale of crime and civil unrest in the area. In most cases, due to low unrest in the Federation, the UCPD concentration is minimal and unintrusive, but in cases of high crime rates, the scale of response increases drastically to match the unlawful actions, enacting solutions that are as fast and quiet as they are effective. Rarely are UCPD forces used as a military force, though they have the equipment to be used as one.

Major Members[]
Economy[]
Many of the factions within the Federation are corporations. As such, the Federation lets many of these corporations manage the economy, though not without a long list of regulations to prevent monopolizations and other abuses of the galactic economy. The Federation has a single standard currency in use, though almost every other kind of currency is accepted for use (with some exclusions depending on the currency type).
Stocks are widely used in the Federation economy, with literally countless amounts of money shifting hands each day. Taxes are widely enforced to fund the Federation, with taxes increasing on those with higher incomes, especially megacorporations, both to pull in money and to prevent a megacorporation from gaining too much power and attempting to expand in violation of regulations, though many megacorporations still attempt this from time to time and operate in the shadows through underground markets and other means.
For a corporation to be considered a nation and become a member state of the Federation, the corporation needs to have broken away from any parent company, operate as a government and control territory, as well as have its own citizens and meet Federation standards for sentient life rights. Otherwise, any corporation within Federation space is considered to be owned by the Federation and not a government entity.
Society and Culture[]
Holidays[]
Federation Day[]
Federation Day is a national holiday within the Khardi'arzuun Universe to celebrate the formation of the Federation of Unified Worlds, celebrated annually once a year on the day of the Federation's founding every year since 2955 (4255 NE). Traditions of the holiday include parades (both military and civilian), other live events, large feasts, and ceremonies to honor those who sacrificed themselves for the Federation and its ideals, though all these holidays are celebrated in varying degrees depending on where in the Federation a celebration is being held, with some locations completely unaware of the holiday's occurrence until after the day is over.
Religion[]
Due to the sheer scale of the Federation, there is no one official religion of the government. As such, religions are often not recognized as official government bodies, though each officially recognized religion is allowed to send one representative to be present for government decisions and carries about as much political weight in decision-making as a federal senator.
