B1-Series battle droids,, also occasionally refered to as Battle-Bots were battle droids that made up the backbone of the Trade Federation Droid Army. Often called "Clankers" by Allied troops, they were the successor of both the HKB-3 hunter-killer droid.and the OOM-series battle droid.
B1s were perhaps the most numerous—and expendable—soldiers in several realities, mainly the Filo and Viau universes, and, unlike most organic soldiers, they were capable of action in hostile environments such as underwater or in space. They were designed, for the most part, to defeat their enemies through sheer numbers, not through their ability to think (they were very vulnerable to tricks) and utilize combat skills (unlike clone troopers). The B1 battle droid was frequently used as a soldier for the Trade Federation. As a result, B1s were present in nearly every battle involving the Trade Federation.
During the Separatist Crisis, the Trade Federation leadership met with other corporate leaders on the planet Geonosis, and the Federation had given its droid army, including the B1 battle droid, to the growing Confederacy of Independent Systems. The droids became the main soldier of the new Separatist Droid Army. The forces of the army used newer reworked B1s. These B1 models did not have a reliance on a central command signal, and so these newer models did not require a control ship. They were capable of independent thought; however, it was limited. On Geonosis the droid army clashed with the Galactic Republic's new army of clone troopers for the first time. This battle launched the galactic conflict known as the Clone Wars. The B1 battle droids and the other models of combat droids used by the Confederacy fought the forces of the Republic on many worlds for the duration of the long conflict.
Early battles involving the droids required a central computer for the droids to "think" from, but this was mostly removed pre-Clone Wars eras. By they were commonly used by the Seperatists. Throughout the droids' history, it was evident that the B1 was dim-witted. Programming glitches manifested as the B1 battle droids developing personality quirks, and they were known to make commentary on what occurred around them. The B1s were outmatched by the clone troopers of the Republic, but massive numbers of B1s could gain victory over the more experienced clone troopers, and even members of the Jedi Order. The B1 battle droids, along with other Separatist droids by the Republic, were manufactured in massive numbers for the Separatists, but military officers, like the Supreme Commander of the Droid Army General Grievous, grew angry at the failings of the B1. Following the defeat of the Confederacy, B1 battle droids were deactivated by the Galactic Empire in most realities such as the Viau verse, others remained active for centuries along with the rest of the droid army to serve as one of the armies of the Axis of Empires, launching them in many worlds following the First Multiverse War. B1 battle droids continued to see use through Separatist holdouts and the black market during the Post-war era.
Characteristics[]
History[]
After The First Multiverse[]
Battle droids were not extensively used even after the CIS was defeated the only known user of the B1 battle droid are NOD who use the comical droids to bolster their rank, these B1's are heavily modified and perform surprisingly well but still retain their comcial nature because the forces of Kane find it "funny". B1 battle droids may also be used by other universes or factions because of resources restraint and manpower limits, because of it some B1's use their blaster and use the weapons of whatever the faction that made them.
Third Multiverse war[]
The Third Multiverse war was a lot different as the warring nations of the Multiverse federation were waging war against the TransRace Empire, the Nationalist Enclave and a reogragnised Hegemony of Independent States. The Multiverse recieved a flesh inflex of nations and world whose tech levels did match the Pol Earth and Filo and Viau universes along with the Flop'lla universe. As a result these newer civilizations looked though old data banks and found old tech that intrested them. Some of the Pol Earth military advisors also suggested a modernsation of old but reliable equipment to modern technological standards. This resulted in the B1 Battle Droids new lease of life as it was amonst the thousands of modernised equipment. This ironically ended with the B1 battle dorids blueprints (Original) to be recreated. The Battle droids were given better processing power and some models were given mostly old Pol Earth 60's to 70's like technologies resulting in some B1's to vary in quality. However the B1 was a mass cannon fodder unit that even recived some modern special forces variants. The B1 earned the nickname "The Mulitverse GI" not only did its chatty nature seem to amuse alot of the different species but the B1 battle droid was generaly inexpensive to produce and to maintain. Its ability to be stored in vechicles that the CIS first made abosultely surprised the newer Multiverse nations although.
It was estimated that the B1 Battle Droid proved to be a capable combat cannon fodder combat driod able to sometimes hold off TransRace Empire infantry platoons and companies solely by themselves (Usually being on the divison or company heirarchy scale combat wise).
