The Magog (Second Human Empire: Tiuuy'yui Siuee'eei) are a race of bipedal, furred sentient beings that are the single most feared species in all the known worlds of the Vuytti Universe. Since their catastrophic attacks in the waning days of the Nietzschean uprising, the Magog have roamed through the Known Worlds nearly unchecked, launching devastating raids against populated worlds only to retreat again, leaving devastation in their wake. Thus far, no political or military entity has been strong enough to check their depredations, though the worlds of the Than Hegemony and more powerful Nietzschean Prides stay relatively safe. The Magog once fought against Axis of Empires when they invaded the Vuytti, took serious casualties until they were submitted and used as their foot soldiers to strike unprotected planets, as well as using their own world ships as fortress.

Treated as mere living weapons for the Axis to serve during the Vuytti Campagin until the Systems Commonwealth and the Alliance of Nations, the Andromeda, under the command of Captain Dylan Hunt, rediscovered the World Ship. In a small battle, the Swarm ships and the Axis invaded the ship while the World Ship's Point Singularity Projector blasted a hole in the ship. The Alliance came off their aide and managed to escape, but dropped a Nova bomb, destroying the World Ship's sun. It is estimated that it would take two to three years before the Magog could replace their sun should the Combine allow it.

History[]

Origins[]

The exact origin of the Magog species were unknown and how they came to be an aggressive species capable of spaceflight as well as advanced technology. This had led to some researchers theorizing that the Magog were not a naturally developed race, but rather a bio-engineered weapon designed to replicate itself and destroy anything it came into contact with. But this was only speculation and the actual history of the Magog species was only known to themselves, which meant that their origins were shrouded in mystery. All attempts at uncovering or even tracing the migration path of the Magog back to their homeworld ended in failure, even the Axis could not know of how they came to be after they first subjugated the majority of the species.

According to the Magog themselves, they believed that they were created by their own deity which they called the Spirit of the Abyss. At some unknown point, they were responsible for building a massive World ship whereupon a large number of their species relocated. Following that time, the entire race embarked on their gods’ mysterious mission to conquer, destroy and pillage entire galaxies of the Vuytti falling before them.

The Systems Commonwealth[]

It It was in the year 9766 CY that the next phase in their masters operation came and the Magog attacked in mass against the Systems Commonwealth world of Brandenburg Tor. In the battle, the Magog succeeded in killing around three billion sentient beings with the many scattered survivors returning to the Commonwealth in order to tell their horrific tale of the ruthless parasitic invaders. Over the next fifteen years, the Magog attacked numerous other worlds but these assaults were sporadic at best and no where as devastating as their first assault on Brandenburg Tor. Amongst the worlds they assaulted included the Nietzschean colonies of Dawkinstown, Hawking and Kagame's World. During this time, the High Guard dispatched a slipscout which was later followed by the Glorious Heritage class heavy cruiser Andromeda Ascendant on a secret mission to uncover a well travelled slipstream pathway. This journey led the ship all the way to the galaxy known as M86 where the Andromeda Ascendant discovered the Magog Worldship in a galaxy where all the stars had been destroyed. Learning of the magnitude of the threat, the Andromeda Ascendant was attacked and swarmed by Magog with all the crew being killed though the ship managed to escape into slipstream where it was lost for thirteen months before being uncovered by friendly vessels.

The Long Night[]

During the Long Night, no political or military force was strong enough to challenge the Magog attacks except for the worlds of the Than Hegemony and the more powerful Nietzschean Prides which were capable of protecting themselves. Despite the depradations they visited on the many worlds, the Magog seemed content to live largely on their worlds that were located in the collapsed Quarantine Zone. Beyond that, they had not expanded to a great degree beyond transforming several former Commonwealth worlds into breeding grounds for mysterious reasons. These planets Dyhedra, Double Happiness and Zinn's World. The Dyhedra system was formerly a resort planet filled with hotels that was invaded by the Magog. In addition, another system infested with Magog was included the planet Albadar.

The Axis Rule[]

About 200 years after the fall, by the New Era Callander 1460 N.E., a new power entered the universe known as the Axis of Empires, those who invaded where the Scarran, the Empire of the Combine Race, and the Chimera who fought the Magog and described as more terrifying than the Magog and invaded their breeding grounds. The conflict between the Chimera and Magog were so fears, it became known as the Feral Wars for control of their territories. The Magog suddenly ceased hostilities and made a pact with the Combine to become allies when the battle between both sides were stalemate, no one knows why and assumed the Magog made an alliance, but in fact the Spirit of the Abyss made plans to use them for its advantage against its enemies.

The Aixs made an agreement to return most of the infested worlds to them, the Chimera maintained a small territory of their own in the Triangulum Galaxy

Three hundred years after the fall of the Commonwealth, the Dyhedra system was destroyed by the children from Guard Station GS-92196 who deployed a Nova bomb from a slipfighter into the sun. On the planet Serendipity, the planet became besieged by slavers who intended to enslave the native Hajira people. Their actions were only haulted when Tiama forcibly impregnated herself with larvae from Rev Bem with the resultant progency maintaining the genetic memory of their Hajira host. These Magog killed the slavers and were about to kill the Hajira Wayists until they were convinced to become their guardians. Thus, was spawned an entire brood of warrior priests that cost the innocency of the Hajira.

Vuytti Campaign[]

Commonwealth reborn[]

Eventually the World ship was repaired and arrived at Arkology for the Battle of Arkology. Despite all attempts to defeat it, the Worldship proved too much for the Andromeda and destroyed Arkology. Even every Nova Bomb Andromeda possessed being fired into it had no effect. Finally, Trance Gemini piloted the Andromeda into the Worldship and caused it to go supernova, apparently destroying the Worldship. It is later revealed that it survived, but was badly crippled in the battle. The Magog took a serious blow when the Andromeda destroys the Spirit of the Abyss, the Magog leader and creator who aided the the Combine.

Notes[]

  • It may be noted that despite being members of the Axis, the Magog still hold bitterness to some of their ‘allies’, preferably towards the Chimera after the bloody conflicts during the last century of The Long Night. They were also considered nothing but savage beasts by the Imperials upon learning about them, even suggest sterilising the majority had they subjugated them but followed the rules as part of the Axis.
