The United Empires of America, otherwise known as the United Empires, the American Empire and simple Li'lui America is a major nation of an Earth in the Li'lui Universe where as the United States reorganizes as the United Empires, a nation where people are elected as Emperor (for life) or Praetor (four terms at most) of the UE. The UEA was first discovered of the First Aftermath era in the 2420 NE.

Government and Politics

Since its' founding, the United Empires of America has been a revolution entity, even if it did share many characteristics with Europe's monarchies. To be more specific, the United Empires, since its' creation in 1776 (2181 NE) has been a Federal Constitutional Elective Monarchy with a Praetorical (Li'lui's mash of a Parliementary and Presidential systems) Democracy. In other words, it is a government where all elements of the government, from the members of Congress to the Monarch themselves are elected by the people of America, rather then just the legislative body being elected and the Monarch picked purely due to their bloodline. Unlike other elective monarchies of the past, the Emperors and Empresses of Li'lui's America are a life position and only change once that monarch dies, while the position of Praetor is elected by members of Congress among their own ranks.

Interestingly, the United Empires can be considered a Biarchy, as both the position of monarch and Praetor share similiar powers with one another, in fact, the constitution of the United Empires explectly states that the two postions are meant to keep the two from getting too much power over the other, although many Li'lui Americans have made mentions and discuss how effective this is as the position of Emperor is a life position and in turn means that the sitting monarch, whoever that maybe, will have considerable influence over the Praetor due to years of experience working within the government, although this is lessened to an extent via the position's term length, around 6 years, and four term limit.
