The Gallente Federation is one of the four major empires of the New Eden Cluster, and the known Lo'opik Universe. Self-righteous, meddling, pompous and tiresome, or virile liberalists and defenders of the free world. Love them or hate them, you simply can't ignore them. Everybody has an opinion on the Gallente Federation, it all depends from which side of the table you view them. For many, it is the Promised Land, where any dream can become a reality. Descendants of Tau Ceti, the Gallenteans remain strong believers in free will and human rights, despite numerous setbacks in their long history. The Gallente Federation joined the Axis of Empires to counter the Caldari, their enemy, they also encounter the Empire of the Combine Race and the Coalition of Independent States.
History[]
Ancient Origins[]
First Contact[]
The Gallente managed to discover the Caldari in 22463 AD, but were unable to contact them, spurring their development of space exploration. They finally managed to establish contact in 22517 AD. In 22588 AD, they developed and constructed their first stargate. Unlike the Amarr, they did not have an intact stargate to study, leading to a different design than the Amarr.
The Gallente eagerly expanded, driven by curiosity and a thirst for knowledge. In 22794 AD, they discovered the Intaki, and soon after discovered the Mannar in 22809 AD. Much like with the Caldari, the Gallente uplifted these civilizations with technology, bringing them into the space faring fold.
With help from the Caldari, the Gallente developed the first modern warp drive in 22821 AD, greatly increasing their ability to explore. With more and more systems being discovered and colonized, the Gallente founded the Federation along with the Caldari, Intaki, and Mannar in 23121 AD.
Gallente-Caldari Conflicts[]
In 23155 AD, the Gallente discovered several secret Caldari colonies. Because the colonies had not been established according to Federation law, the Gallente attempted to penalize the Caldari. This eventually escalated, with the Caldari withdrawing from the Federation. A Caldari terrorist cell sabotaged a dome of the underwater Gallente city Nouvelle Rouvenor, killing half a million people.
A fascist government took power in the Federation following the attack, which began military operations against the Caldari. As the Caldari evacuated their homeworld, the Federation planned a large assault on the planet. In order to delay them, a detachment of the Caldari fleet attacked the Federation Navy, and engaged in hit-and-run strikes. When the fleet was too damaged to continue, they ran one last suicide mission, crashing their carrier into Gallente Prime, an act which killed two million people in the city of Hueromont.
The two sides fought to a protracted draw, with each side gaining temporary advantages, only to see them eventually vanish. The Caldari developed fighters, only for the Gallente to counter with drone technology. The Caldari then gained the capsule from the Jove, while both nations developed the Titan. The two sides fought the second-largest battle in history at the Battle of Iyen-Oursta, which inflicted heavy casualties to both.
After nearly a century of conflict, both sides had become exhausted by the simmering war. They eventually signed a peace treaty in 23248 AD.
First Multiverse War[]
Changing Sides[]
As the fighting waged on across the Eve Cluster, Alliance agents received interesting intel about the leaders of the Federation, it turned out they intended to join the Alliance for free will, even by means ending the long bloody feud with the Caldari, but something happened. While it was possible there may have been traitors who wanted to gain an advantage over their enemies and lose potential profit to make if ending their war, but according to a young human named Val Kyroth, who was among the infiltrators to gather intelligence felt another mind in one of the politicians and one of them had an implant in their cerebral cortex. This baffled the rebels who defected the federation and realised their people were in fact under the control of the Axis, rather than joined willingly for all this time. Teal'c of Chulak, a Jaffa immediately recognised one of the cases for the prisoner’s sudden behaviour with a parasite, a Goa'uld.
The To’kra offered their support and use their expert knowledge while the others capture those who have cybernetic implants that control them and rebels to apprehend the traitors. They believed that since the Amarr made a change of their ways to join the Alliance, the Axis needed some way to gain a foothold in this universe such as the Eve Cluster for its star gates and allowed the Goa’uld to infiltrate the Gallente Federation, in return for new territories and advance technologies the Gallenteans possess while prolonging the conflict between them and the Caldari to exhaust each other out for complete control.
In order to make this plan work, they needed those who could work with them to watch out for anyone who maybe a Host, or a collaborator to expose them. Reports of anti-Axis rebel forces within the Federation had been common during the couple of decades and have been trying to breech against the war, members of the political status and rank were part of them but kept quiet to avoid exposure, provided intel on their leaders’ and officers’ behaviour when they received the truth about alien parasites controlling their leaders.
Government[]
The Gallente Federation was founded a little over centuries prior to the Great War. At that time the Federation consisted of 17 sectors or districts and four races. A district is a group of solar systems (of various sizes). The number of districts has steadily increased through the ages and now stands at 62. The four races at the Federation's creation were the Gallente (by far the largest of the four), the Caldari, the Intaki and the Mannar. The Caldari left a few decades after the Federation's foundation and set up their own empire. The other three remain and have since been bolstered by immigrants from all the races, most notably Minmatar, to the point where people of that ancestry now number almost a third of the total population of the Federation.
The core belief of the Federation is that of individuality and individual freedom. Its democracy is very open: it is common for major issues to go to a public vote instead of being solely decided on by the senate or president, thanks to actions long ago by lobby factions wishing to utilize public opinion. The lobby factionists felt it was much easier to sway public opinion on important matters via master propagandists than via the mind of the president. But in practice this has created a paradox as the individual freedom to do what you want constantly clashes with the individual freedom from being oppressed by other individuals. Any governmental interference to keep things in check through legislation and policing is naturally perceived as oppression of the rights and freedom of individuals, constantly creating tension. But the Federation and its populace have learned to direct and control this tension, making it in many ways a positive thing. The result is an exceedingly vibrant society, constantly scrutinizing itself and its principles, spurring creativity and ethical notions.
Culture and Society[]
Gallenteans are widely known for theirits highly self-expressive nature and artistic quality. Rather than the cultural arts of the ethnic Gallente being something to reinforce the social order, it often challenges it. As a platform for individual self-expression, these practices commonly come with complex and nuanced philosophical implications, designed to progress the status quo from generation to generation. Provocation is a key element, challenging previously established morals and principles with new and fresh ideas, resulting in a vibrant and progressive culture. This is often ridiculed as decadent and hedonistic, but in almost every case, individuals who stereotype ethnic Gallente culture like this have not taken the time to consider the thousands of subtexts involved.
Military[]
Rumors of Grand Admiral Eturrer's defection and subsequent disappearance eventually trickled down the ranks. The consensus among those in the know was that he was the vilest of traitors, and solely to blame for the entire debacle; such was the fervor that when he was finally caught, he was fairly tortured to death in front of a nationwide audience.
Many of the Federation Navy's top personnel had spent years fighting for increased funding and additional recruitment, and the prevailing opinion is that the Navy could have made a credible stand in Luminaire had they not been betrayed. With the horrific actions of Admiral Noir still fresh in memory, there are many who have lost faith in the command leadership entirely.
As a result most remain angry and frustrated, itching for a chance to strike back. They recognized the wisdom in Foiritan's surrender but they fumed at his weakness (and, of course, eventually replaced him with the more militant Roden). The situation in the Luminaire system has had everyone on edge. The military establishment knows full well that the Federation is about three hours and a twitch away from having every planet in its home system rendered permanently uninhabitable. They are also aware of their resulting helplessness against the Titan looming over Caldari Prime, and the feeling greatly intensifies their desire to strike back somewhere else.

Axis of Empires[]
While the Gallente Federation had unexpectedly joined the Axis of Empires, possibly to support them against the Caldari, but in truth were manipulated after the Goa’uld infiltrated and used the political leaders and military officers to prolong the conflict and for their advance warships to support the Axis. When the truth of their involvement was exposed, the Gallenteans saw their true colours and defected to the Alliance,
