Golmar Earth is an alternate version of many Earths and one of the planets to exist in the Golmar Universe, it is the most notable world when the planet became overrun by hostile alien creatures from the Xen borderworld, and later taken over completely by the Combine. The planet fought the 7 Hours War and the Black Mesa Incident. In 2032 (1370), the inhabitants of Earth and the Vortigaunt rebels launched an uprising to overthrow their Combine overlords with the resistance leader Eli Vance, finally succeeded to regain their homeworld in the 30 year uprising with the help of Gordon Freeman. Golmar Earth became a homeworld of both Human and Vortigaunt And while it did underwent a civil war for the next eleven years, it nevertheless emerged from the conflict a new planet, scared but stronger then ever and even forged a new interstellar government in the process.
Following the throughout the First Multiverse War, Golmar Earth played a major important role in the Alliance of Nations with refugees from alternate worlds, strived in democracy with alien races of the Golmar Universe. By the century after the first war, it's population risen back to the pre-Combine invasion with a mix of various races and cultures to co-exist.
The planet became a target for the Combine to launch several attacks to crush the alliance moral and a bane to their humiliating defeat, it was one of the worlds under the Emperor's last orders to initiate an attack during the Great Burn, however it was prevented and spared from the protocol.
It would once more become one of the core worlds of the Multiversial Federation.
Geographic Features[]
Climate[]
Before the Portal Storms and the Combine Occupation, Golmar Earth was just starting to see the affects of climate change occur, although at that point in time it was rather mild. But following the Portal Storms the planet's climate became chaotic and unstable, at least initially, after a couple of months it stabilized enough for humans to not fear a random superstorm erupting overnight. And due to the much more reduced green house emissions of humans the Earth seemed to be slowly recovering, to the point many Golmar Humans noticed the changed. However, after the Combine invaded and conquered the planet, the planet's climate began to change due to combine influence and actions, like the purposeful pollution of waterways to forced the remaining human population into specific locations, or the slow draining of the planet's oceans to other parts of the Combine Empire severely affecting weather systems and underwater currents.
Because of all of the above factors, even after the Combine rule ended, extensive rebuilding, restoration, and Xeno-extermination would have to take place to make the entire planet habitable again.
Flora and Fauna[]
Golmar Earth's local wildlife was like most of any other Earths prior to the Black Mesa Incident. During the Combine occupation, most of the planet was mostly uninhabitable due to Earth's landmass being covered with Xen fungi. These fungi released toxins making most of the land mass uninhibited for most life. While humans can survive for a short amount of time, long term exposer can lead to health risks. This, coupled with the large amount of Xen wildlife caused nearly all animals native to Golmar Earth go extinct or become critically endangered.
The continent being most habitable is Europe. Most of the world's populous was re-located there due to most humans being killed by the portal storms or combine invasion, resulting in a smaller, much more manageable population. Although some decided to take their chances with the uninhabitable continents, being met with success. Although death rates there are high and humans are forced into a hunter-gather life stile, humans there have made some success in their survival.
Attempts to re-colonise the effected areas have been largely successful. However, most of Earth inhabitants have chosen to remain in Europe, where the Xen fungi is the least present. Most of the continent was also wiped clean of all Xen wildlife save for ant lions, head crabs and barnacles. Most of this was done by ant-lions hunting the xen wild life to extinction but also Combine forces killed Xen wild life in or near cites being re-fitted for human and combine occupation. The continents where humans had the most successes in recolonizing them were North America and Oceania, the former of which eventually became the heart of the HVF's capital city of Lambda City. Only some regions of Asia were successfully recolonized, frequently those in what was Korea, Japan, Coastline China, and South East Asia and only a fracture of Africa or South America able to be recolonized, with most of them being nearly impossible and outright uninhabitable, with only Africa's Cairo region and South America's Buenos Aires region being the most populated regions on a largely small population continents.
By the event of the Federation's era and in contact with various alternate Earths, Golmar Earth's wildlife was almost restored to its natural state, mostly by reintroducing plant and animal species; both living and extinct animals from various eras whilst carefully making sure they be suited for the ecological conditions.
History[]
Shortly after the development of teleportation technology at Black Mesa, the Xen borderworld was discovered. Scientists began investigating Xen and experimenting on the creatures found there by traveling through portals to reach it. Experiments into mysterious crystals found on the borderworld led to a catastrophic event, dubbed the Black Mesa Incident, which tore open the gateways between the dimensions and allowed waves of aliens to spontaneously travel through and begin attacking the unprepared scientists.
Black Mesa Incident[]
In 2006 (1344 NE). the Black Mesa Research Facility conducted experiments with mysterious crystals found on the border world led to a catastrophic event, dubbed the Black Mesa Incident, which tore open the gateways between the dimensions and allowed waves of aliens to spontaneously travel through and begin attacking the unprepared scientists in Black Mesa. This resonance cascade caught the attention of the Combine empire, some six years after the detainment of Gordon Freeman and the destruction of the Black Mesa Research Facility began to send their own legions to Earth. A short but decisive war between the world's militaries and the Combine ensued, later called the Seven Hour War, ultimately resulting in the capitulation of all world governments, including the United Nations, and the enslavement of Golmar Earth's human population.
Six Year Portal Storm Surge[]
During the six years of the portal storms recking havoc, society was pushed to its edge. Most nations collapsed and those who remained were pushed to the breaking point.
Despite this, humans adapted to the new "normal".
Combine Invasion[]
7 Hour War[]

The Seven Hour War between Golmar Earth and the Combine
Six years after the Resonance Cascade that caused the Incident eventually caught the attention of the Combine empire after their arrival into the Golmar Universe to invade various worlds, which, after the detainment of Gordon Freeman by The G-Man and the destruction of the Black Mesa Research Facility, began to send their own legions to Earth. A short but decisive battle between the world's military and the Combine ensued, later called the Seven Hour War, ultimately resulting in the enslavement of Earth's population.
Combine Occupation[]
Under Combine control, Golmar Earth was left in utter chaos. The Combine began to strip the Earth of any useful natural resources, the planet being "picked to the bone". The most noticeable sign of this was the considerable drop in sea levels as water was drained and brought to other Combine worlds. Toxic and radioactive waste is prevalent in many areas, making them inhospitable such a Combine facility 'absorbing' the air while distributing a collection of chemicals into the atmosphere. Also, the introduction of fierce, extraterrestrial lifeforms such as the Antlions and Headcrabs left possibly all of Earth's natural lifeforms either extinct or critically endangered. However, it was part of the Combine's occupation to research on how the humans of this reality could develop advance dimensional portals despite lack of resources and technologies.

Golmar Uprising[]
The originally hostile Vortigaunts united with the humans and became part of the Resistance, an underground alliance who intended to overthrow the Combine and regain control of the planet. Bases were set up and over several years they gained much information on the Combine. The reappearance of Gordon Freeman led a sudden spur of movement and attacks from the Resistance, called the Golmar Uprising, allowing them to usurp control from the Combine forces in and surrounding City 17, destroying the Citadel Core and irradiated the entire surrounding area after escaping to bases in the Wasteland.
City 17's Core destruction broke down the Combine's lines of communication, leaving them stranded within their settlements on Golmar Earth. In an attempt to bring more forces through and thwart the Lambda Resistance, the Combine induced the Citadel's destruction, causing it to produce a Superportal. At White Forest, the Lambda Resistance were able to launch a rocket into space to take advantage of a satellite network to close the Superportal before it matured and fully opened.
Liberation of Golmar Earth[]
It remained unclear if the Combine have won the battle. Chell emerged in a sunny wheat field, and the sky was blue and healthy-looking again, unlike the polluted, dark sky the Combine take care to cultivate, and the presence of the crops seem to indicate that the Combine have failed in draining Earth's resources.
However, these elements might have just been used to enhance the idea that Chell is finally free and leaving Aperture Science. Alternatively, they may indicate that the Combine has moved the vast majority of humanity elsewhere (such as Europe) and has since concentrated its efforts there, largely ignoring North America. Although, Chell went through a portal onto the Moon as part of the final boss battle between her and Wheatley, and briefly looks at the Golmar Earth which appears to be healthy, with its natural sea level. The likely explanation behind this could be because Chell has been in hibernation for years as stated by the announcer at Aperture Laboratories, so either the Combine has declared Golmar Earth no longer resourceful, or that they were driven off-world and the planet has been recovering ever since. However, it could simply be an oversight from the developers.

At White Forest, the Resistance were able to launch a rocket into space to take advantage of a satellite network to close the Superportal before it matured and fully opened. It was not long until they established contacts from other races that had suffered the tyranny of he Combine also rose up and established trade with the Humans and Vortigaunts, offering an alliance out of friendship and mutual cooperation against the invaders.
Civil War[]
in 2062 (1400 NE), with Earth finally freed from the Combine oppression, the remaining human population was gathered to what was now to be called White Forest City alongside Vortigaunts as a new era of the future. But knowing the Combine could return, the freedom fighters needed to establish a new political government. However, that moment had passed when four factions fought for control of Earth: Human-Vortigaunt Federation, the Human-Vortigaunt Reich, the Human-Vortigaunt Empire and the Human-Vortigaunt Union for eleven years until 2067 (1411 NE) with the Federation being the victor and began restoring the damage caused by the war.
Alternate Earths[]
By 2052 (1390 NE), 46 years since the Seven Hours War, a discovery by scientists was made when they conducting research on dimensional travel, they inadvertently sent soldiers into another Earth where in this reality was over a century behind theirs and was under threat by another alien race known as the Chimera, found new found allies to help each other to liberate their worlds from the alien threats, but as of right now the EFF couldn't help them as they were still fighting the Combines in their own uprising.
Kromagg Threat[]
The Golmar Earth received an unexpected discover of a vortex, assuming to be another Combine invasion but instead by humans from an alternate reality set in the mid-1990s in 2057 (1395 NE) by a group of rebels fighting a race called the Kromaggs who once tried to attack this version of Earth, only to be easily defeated and captured. Unable to risk another threat with the Combine possibly behind it, however the majority of the countries agreed to send a group of Earth Freedom Fighters using the new KVF drive with the aid of a formerly captured professor maximillian Arturo who was part of a group of travellers called “Sliders” Who had travelled to parallel Earths for a time until he was switched by a counterpart prior to his “death”. Offering his knowledge of the Sliding Technology for them to travel to the previous Earths his group had been, and helped for a rebellion against the Kromaggs with the rise of the Coalition of Earths as a potential ally.
Golmar Civil War[]
Creation of the Alliance of Nations[]
With the war expanding across many worlds not just their universe but other realities as well as the Empire of the Combine Race formed their own alliances with other civilizations much to the surprise of the inhabitants of their odd behaviour. Many in the newly founded cities were in a state of panic of facing them again, but many veterans and new generations were eager to face them to stop the Combine from repeating the same brutality they caused them. The HVF military forces enlisted and trained as their fleet was prepared since the end of the uprising.
In 2082 (1420 NE) Refugees from an alternate Earth in the Pol Universe were brought in ships after the invasion of their Earth, while the inhabitants offered them sanctuary, there have been issues between two sides mainly by racial discrimination that the Pol Humans have been used to in they 1940s lifestyle and having hard time adjusting to the advancement of Golmar Earth society and their low tolerance to discrimination which put many in prison, while the younger generation, including those of colour seemed eager and welcoming to know more of their lifestyles to be treated equal. It was then President Kleiner called out to the Pol refugees to lecture them of how and why Golmar Earth was different, how humanity of their universe united more than ever under the tyranny of the Combine for years and almost brought to extinction and fought alongside non-human races such as the Vortigaunt and Arle, another species who suffered under Combine rule and rose up for freedom.
End of the War[]
Creating the Federation[]
Rebuild[]

Golmar Earth's New York City's famous broadway after decades of abandonment.
After the Civil war, the Federation made projects to recolonise and restore their world, expedition teams sent to find any remaining cities still standing for efforts of returning after decades of abandonment, teams sent to Africa, South America and most of Asia found most of the cities leveled, while in North America only parts of cities were converted into any number of the Combine's numbered cities, one such being New York City, with only half of Manhattan, the Bronx, and most of Queens turned into City 1, with the rest of New York left abandoned and ruined, slowly reclaimed by nature.
Culture and Society[]
Prior to the Combine invasion, Golmar Earth was like most other human societies in the multiverse while in the 21st century. The Golmaran humans would have become a large contender in the multiverse with their development of portal tech but due to the BLI and Black Mesa's subsequent destruction, they did not.
When the Portal Storms hit, most of the citizens of Golmar Earth were relocated to the most populated cities in their respective country. However, by the time of the combine invasion, nearly all safe zones were overrun and those that remained were entirely found in the most developed nations and those nations were in a state of martial law with the rest of the planet collapsing entirely. This in turn caused hundred of millions of deaths and a refugee crisis that hasn't been seen on the planet since.
Combine occupation[]
Like all combine occupied worlds, society in combine occupied areas was completely totalitarian. However, unlike other planets, the combine took it one step further and prevented humans from breeding. This resulted in the formation of resistance cells, notably the City 17 cell. This cell would later form into the EFF.
Outside of combine occupied areas, the communities of people was loosely organised, with much like the EFF in its early years, had a few key figures which acted like leaders.
Post Uprising[]
Following the uprising, the Golmar earth underwent civil war over what government they should have. Eventually, the Human-Vortigont federation came out on top and they took control of the Human-Vortigaunt controlled space.
This acted as a democracy for all inhabits of Golmar earth. It also became a hot spot for all types of specie's culture and things part of the cultures.
Religion[]
Golmar Earth's religions is very much like most Earths in the 21st century eras in various realities.
Politics[]
Before the BMI and 7HW, Earth had policies like any other earth around the time of the year 2006. However, after the combine occupation, there was no politics due to it being a complete dictator ship.
After the establishment of the Human-Vortigont federation, the system acti

Notes[]
- Following the end of the Uprising and Civil War, the HVF took much effort in rebuilding Earth's environment. Not only actively hunting down and killing off all Xen animal-life, but also slowly rebuilding the very environment itself, cleaning up the pollution left by the Combines and restoring Earth to the way it once was, which including importing other earths wildlife to repopulate the planet's environment once more; both living and previously extinct species from alternate realities.
- Giving there have been much of their culture lost during the Combine Occupation, either due to the total extinction of various cultures and ethnic groups or the generations that grew up under the Occupation having entirely different cultures from their region of birth, there have been only a few records preserved, mainly history and science, there have been some records that have been preserved and or remembered by those of the surviving generation know of such universes similar and based on the fiction they remember or presumed were the work of imagination, at least to a extent, as after the Portal storms began in earnest much of fictional works were limited to literature, comics, animations, manga, and video games with live action works effectively prevented entirely and everything was stopped entirely after the Combine's conquest of Earth in 2012 Golmar (1350 NE).
