Gorlahk

A Gorlahk

The Gorlahk were a psionic species native to the planet Gonreshan and existed in the Golmar Universe and were one of the major members of the Commonwealth of Golmaran States after the rebellion against the Combine, while also found in its counterparts when they were known to have strong psionic connections and used their abilities to cloak themselves form invaders, the Gorlahk came into contact with the Human-Vortigaunt Federation, joining the Alliance and later the Multiversial Federation.

History

The Gorlahk first evolved on the planet Gonreshan developed civilisation and technology to travel beyond their world, where they uncovered an ancient relic of a gate-like structure drifting in their region of space. The Gorlahk spend years studying this device when they sent probes through the gate and realised it belonged to a vastly ancient race before them and realised the probes sent through arrived beyond millions of lightyears. Not only could it travel through space, but through alternate realities as well which they realised was affected by their psionic abilities to know they were not in the same universe.

They sensed the presence of hostile invaders known as the Combine during their exploration of the Milky Way Galaxy and stood firm against the invaders, despite their efforts, the Gorlahk learned how powerful the Combine were and retreated to their borders and found them focus on the planet Golmar Earth in thewhen they had witnessed various factions from other realities fought one another.

Technology

Prior to the First Multiverse War, the Gorlahk were a highly advance civilization with the technology to harness energy from the stars and prolong their lifespans, replicating material resources and travel to vast distances in their home galaxy. When they traded with the Alliance to support them against the Combine, the Gorlahk had the ability to explore new realities and used it with their psionic abilities to channel into their technology to ensure that only their race could operate them unless allow those to access it for counter measures.

By tthe time they joined the Mutliverse Federation, rumours of the Golarhk and few advance civilizations begun creating artificial worlds using black holes and suns for habitable planets when they were approached by a scientist who offered their skills. And also a communicate through dimensional gates to other realities.

Society and Culture

Government and Politics

The Gorlahk Commonwealth is formed primarily to expand and explore their home universe, run by a council who had earned their rank through skills, made up of politicians, scientists and engineers by groups to ensure a strong supported civilization. Each member of the council has a limited term for up to 10 years until they stepped down and allow their successor to take over.
