A Heartless Shadow spliced with Necromorph DNA
Heartless, once called Eclipsed, now called Darkened, were originally the artificially created monstrosities that were created by the ancient Malican Empire's General turned Emperor, Emperor Hitt'lon Zizz'lii when they were first called the Eclipse. After the Malican Empire's collapse, the Ecilpse evolved into the Pureblood, somepoint after this, the Embled were created. Over the course of the Malican War, Axis scientists managed to splice Necromorph DNA and possibly other demon essences with Heartless, creating a whole new, and far more deadly and monstrous variant of Heartless which then was released into the battlefields of the Malica universe, turning the wartorn landscapes into bloodsoaked hells-capes to expand their numbers. Fortunately by the near end of the Heartless Civil War, most of them had been destroyed when the Heartless Empire was fractured and the Keyblade Masters and allies destroyed the remnants of the creatures, restoring the damage done by the Darkened using the magic of Kingdom Hearts.
