Jinshu is a colony planet of the Alliance of Civilizations and later the Multiversial Federation, famous for its (both legal and illegal) sport of motorized night racing, making the city a popular hub of famous and aspiring racers from across the known multiverse.
History[]
Discovery and colonization[]
Jinshu was discovered by deep-space Alliance scans in 2391 NE, and found to host remarkably Earth-like conditions. The Alliance was in need for a location to resettle refugees still displaced from the First Multiverse War, and decided to make the planet fit for mass settlement. Six megacities were constructed on the world's continents, and terraforming to introduce various races from Earth was underwent.
Refugees would be settled the year after in 2392 NE, and were primarily Japanese and Pacific-American refugees from the Second Earthican Civil War on Pol Earth, as well as many billion others from the Pacific Rims of other Earths who fled Combine invasions. The city quickly became a hub of Japanese and American culture, blended together as the divide between the two peoples dissolved. The pre-built cities would be further developed and remade to reflect the dominant culture mix.
Rise of night racing[]
In 2902 NE, a video of an unknown motorcyclist outrunning law enforcement vehicles on Jinshu went viral on the Aethernet, but instead of the public ridiculing the racer, they were held up as a hero, and inspired a number of copycats. Several dozen videos of similar situations popped up within the month, and it was driven to certain extremes as hundreds more pushed their vehicles to the limits in illegal sports, done under the night skies and neon lights.
Law enforcement was rendered ineffective by the racers' superior modified sports vehicles, as well as being able to outmaneuver their cars through narrow streets. The Jinshu Police Department, was forced to meet the challengers of Allied law with increasingly violent and aggressive tactics, such as modifying their cars with electric weapons launchers and battering rams. police drivers became vicious in pursuits, requiring racers to outmaneuver them as well.
Famous outlaw street racers flocked to the world for the thrill and sometimes the publicity of outrunning the police, chasing the adrenaline rush. This state of the world persisted for centuries, even well into the days of the Multiversial Federation.
