John Matheson was an Allied officer, formerly of Psi Corps, rated P-6[1]. He was one of the first telepaths to be integrated into Earthforce. He served as second-in-command to Captain Matthew Gideon for several years, first aboard an Explorer class ship and later aboard the Excalibur.
