- "In ancient times, people believed that light was a gift from an unseen land by the name of Kingdom Hearts. But Kingdom Hearts was safeguarded by its counterpart, the χ-blade. Warriors vied for that precious light, thus beginning the "Keyblade War". The violent clash shattered the χ-blade into twenty pieces—seven of light and thirteen of darkness. And only the real Kingdom Hearts was swallowed by the darkness, never to surface again."
- — Master Xehanort, to Ventus in the Badlands/Keyblade Graveyard around 1260 N.E
The Keyblade War, later dubbed by certain elements of the Terran Empire, United Galactic Federation and the United Commonwealths of Worlds as the First Keyblade War, was a conflict manipulated by Hitt'lon Zizz'lii as a means to free himself from his prison, he started by filling peoples heads with the promise of a "Great Light". there is little known of the war, but it became a legendary conflict and became the major driving force behind Xehanort's actions of which is equally manipulated by Zizz'lii to free himself from his prison.
History[]
Notes[]
- Given just how limited the information of this ancient conflict, alot of the history of this war is subject to myths and legends and alot of it is often contradictory, like for instance if it was just a conflict between various Keyblade "Unions" or if it was much larger then that and involved various governments and nationstates and was a true war that end result was societal and technological destruction and collapse with a new dark age affecting the Malica universe for untold millennia, though given the ramifications of the conflict as well as the evidence of locations like the Keyblade Graveyard, its' likely a mix of the two.
- Another core part of the conflict is the myths that emerged stemming from the war, with many of them referring to the state of the Malica Universe as being "one world" shattered into pieces by the resulting conflict, for this instance and setting the "one world" reference is purely metaphorical meant to convey that the worlds used to be under a singular banner before the outbreak of the Keyblade War that destroyed that unity.
- As to when this war occur is difficult to truly pinpoint, as the conflict did effectively destroyed Malican civilization at that point, but Alliance and Malican historians and archeologists mostly came to the conclusion that the conflict might have occurred anywhere between 150 thousand and 149 thousand years before the Xehanort Conflict in the 1260s through the 1270s NE.
