Great Multiverse Wiki

The Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, dubbed by the majority of the British Isles as the Puppet Regime, Mosley's Regime (1417 to 1437 NE), the Axis Collaborator Government, and Occupied Britian and Ireland, but referred to more simply as the Kingdom of Great Britain by members of the government, was the name given to the puppet state established by the Axis of Empires following the invasion of the British Isles in 1946 Pol (1417 NE). The government comprised entirely of British Isles and Ireland following the collapse of their version of the British Empire during the early years of the Second Earthican Civil War and lost their territories to the Axis of Empires and Africa to the Empire of the Combine Race.

Followed the years of being being under occupation with the royal family and their loyalists exiled to Canada, until the Alliance launched a Liberation of the Isles by 2003 (1474 NE) retook the Isles entirely returned to the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland under the protection and membership of the Alliance of Nations throughout the War.

Occupation by the Nazis and Galactic Imperials[]

Unlike other Axis puppet states on Pol Earth, which fall under the control of Nazi Germany or Imperial Japan, the Kingdom of Great Britain was jointly administered, so to speak, by the Greater German Empire, with General Valentin Kirchweger as German Garrison leader, and General Julikayl Rodhamb of the Galactic Empire (Viau) as Imperial Garrison leader, all the while the government itself was made up by and controlled entirely by Pro-Axis collaborators, with Oswald Mosley as its' Prime Minister and head of government and a recrowned Edward VIII as King and head of state. But this quickly proven to be disastrous as neither occupation head agreed, nor even liked one another, quickly creating zones of occupations all over the isles and rarely, if ever, agreeing on how to combat the numerous Anti-Axis resistance groups that quickly began to be formed in the years since. It was in this environment that lead to the Collaborators (moreover Mosley) to effectively hold near absolute power over what is suppose to be a puppet state of the Axis, although Mosley and his government never went beyond what was expected of them, but suffice to Mosley and his forces were what kept the British Isles under Axis rule rather then the expected Axis militaries that stayed there to serve as a occupation force.

For decades Mosley served as the defacto dictator of the Kingdom, enjoy a wide base of support among his fellow collaborators and fascists, although he did have some rivals, the most infamous of which was Arnold Leese, who was considerably more pro-Nazi then Mosley, while Mosley himself largely used his position to subvert Nazi and Viau Imperial control, which eventually resulted in Leese's assassination in 1951 Pol (1422 NE) under Mosley's orders, which he then put the blame for on the Anti-Axis and the overall Anti-Fascist British Resistance and won't be revealed until the defeat of the Kingdom in 2003 Pol (1474 NE). However, the same can not be said of the wider British public, who the vast majority hated him and his Collaborationist regime entirely, and that couldn't be more clear in his assassination in 1966 Pol (1437 NE), which itself saw the eruption of a uprising in London and other major cities in what is now dubbed the English Uprising of 1437 which was quickly put down by Nazi German and Viau Imperial forces in a rare show of cooperation between the two occupation forces.

After Mosley's death, the Kingdom would see a string of Prime Ministers after him, and all lasting anywhere between three years to seven months before being either assassinated by British Resistance or by political rivals, John Beckett, who succeeded Mosley, only held onto the position for a year before being silently overthrown by John Tyndall who lead the Kingdom for three years before being assassinated himself by the Resistance. While the political system of the Kingdom was seemingly falling apart, the Collaborator military, what little that exist, continued to effectively control the Kingdom as a defacto military dictatorship under Field Marshal Simon Hatheway while regulating the once powerful prime ministership into a proxy for the Kingdom's Military and the two occupation forces to place their own figureheads into the position, only for them to be assassinated or quietly removed not too long afterwords, usually between a few months to a few years.

It should come to no knows surprise that the British Campaign lasted as long as it did, the Collaborator regime was falling apart and only kept intact through a combination of the regime's military and the occupation forces, and just barely at that, while the occupation forces themselves were increasingly despising one another with reports of open firefights erupting between Viau's Imperials and the Nazis as well as out in the open hostility between Generals Rodhamb and Kirchweger all combined only ensured that the Alliance would claim victory over the Collaborator government and kick out the Axis entirely and restore the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland in 2003 Pol (1474 NE) after only five years of combat.

Notes[]

  • Due to the chaotic nature of the Joint Nazi-Imperial occupation and open hate between the two occupation heads, the Kingdom predictably held more power then is expected of puppet states, if purely because the people who should be in charge were too busy quietly fighting each other do anything else, which Mosley used to effectively govern as dictator of the Isles. But once he was assassinated, the Kingdom's government quickly collapse and fell into a state of constant infighting between rival political groups with it barely held together by the military while the actual government itself was nothing but a shell of its' former self.
  • While most of the lands fell under control of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, there are three exceptions to this, specifically three cities given fully over to the Axis, specifically the Cities of Bristol, which was given over to Kirchweger as his forces headquarters, Grimsby, given over to Rodhamb as her forces headquarters, and Blackpool, which Hitler insisted to take full control over for his own personal use, which meant the town was effectively depopulated and controlled entirely by Nazi Germany, as to why, he simply wanted the town as his own private vacation spot.
  • The Nazis wanted slaughter roughly 80% of the population of Britain and that fact is one of the few times the Axis enforced their members to not do what they planned, as the Galactic Empire and Combines made it quite clear they will not allow the Nazis to just slaughter the majority of Britain purely to recolonize it with Germans like they're doing with the vast majority of European nations now under their control.
