A fleet emerging through the dimensional gate network
The Kleiner-Freeman-Vance Drive Systems, usually shortened to the KFV Drive Systems, but also called the KFV Drive, is the primary transdimensional and faster-than-light method in which the people of the Known Multiverse use not only to travel from universe to universe but also from planet to planet within a universe. Developed by Doctors Isaac Kleiner, Gordon Freeman, and Eli Vance, to which the name of the systems is derived from, from a combination of their own research into interuniversal travel and Faster-then-light travel, as well as reverse engineering Combine methods and technology used for IT and FTL, created a prototype in 2061 Golmar (1399 NE) and created the first fully functioning KFV Drive Systems in 2067 Golmar (1405 NE), with full government adoption occurring in 2073 Golmar (1411 NE) by the newly established Human-Vortigaunt Federation and the Commonwealth of Golmaran States.
With the Alliance' creation fully functional and replicated in 2077 Golmar (1415 NE), the system began to spread among the various Alliance member states until it became standardized across all Alliance ships, although after decades of continued refinement. In fact, it spread among all other Non-Combine and Ancient Human groups as well, with the majority of Axis and Coalition members using reversed engineered versions of the KFV Drive Systems, which only grew until every group, baring the Combine and the Second Human Empire, have come to use the KFV Drive to some compacity.
The KFV Drive Systems has gone through numerous forms since its' first creation. When it first developed, the KFV Drive needed its' own space station which would then allow vessels to go from one universe to another, or one part of the universe to the other. In effect, the first generations of KFV Drive were akin to the Mass Relays most races depending Element Zero had used and even Stargate. But eventually these systems became more refine, efficient and ultimately downsized enough that could be fit inside a starship, space station and even star fighters which eliminated the need for a specialized station meant for interuniversal and in-universe travel.
The only civilizations that do not use the Drive Systems technology are the Combines and Ancient Humans, however, their form of interuniversal travel is considerably more advanced and sophisticated then the Drive system by a factor of several trillion years if not more.

Development[]
14th Century NE[]
There have been research and development after the capture Combine technology after the Golmar Uprising, several races such as Humans and Vortigaunt conducted research of inter-dimensional travel and in hopes to use it to their advantage should the Combine returned. The three known scientists from Golmar Earth: Isaac Kleiner, Gordon Freeman, and Eli Vance were the first to make a successful Drive system. Several other nations of the newly founded Commonwealth of Golmaran States shared resources to build the first KFV Drive system, although they made enough to send small number of individuals to jump between different vast distances on a safer scale, ensuring to prevent the more unstable Portal Storms. The Golmaran States proceeded to build dimensional gates for ships to travel through them.

Uses[]
Alliance of Nations[]
The Alliance received this KFV-Drive from the blueprints from Golmar Earth’s scientists to counter the Combine from invading other universes and other undiscovered worlds in those realities. During the First War they were limited for the major members who would support each other to travel to other realities and prevent damage such as the Portal Storms until the technology improved and much safer. Then afterwards, they were used widely by the military, and allied factions for exploration and research to reach uncharted regions of their home universes to make contact with new civilizations while.
Axis of Empires[]
For being suppose "allies" the Combines never bother to share their interuniversial travel tech, forcing the Axis members into relaying on the Combines to travel from one universe to another, but its' members despise this arrangement and sought ways to travel the multiverse independent of the Combines, so, its not unsurprising that the Axis members aside from the Combines and Chimera would sought to capture Allied KFV drives systems so they could reverse engineer them to become independent of the Combines. However, each member did this independent of each other, with each member of the Axis not trusting each other as well as a desire to dominate their rivals leading to a century of each axis member trying to reverse engineer KFV systems, but eventually each member did see success in this endeavor.
Coalition of Independent States[]
Alliance of Imperial Powers[]
Pact of Revolutionary Civilizations[]
Other[]
It has been know that other races and cultures have made their own research into travelling great distances and universes without being involved or direct contact with the major powers. Most notable examples are the Ottsel, Second Human Empire, Forerunners, Protheans the Aeden Union, the Ascendancy.

Notes[]
- There are other uses of intrrdeimensiona travel such as the Slide Remote from the Sial'lidik Universes.
- Since after the Remnant War, travelling between Universes have been somewhat limited, especially when it comes to first contact, but otherwise a wide range of ships are allowed to use KFV Drive Systems but now need to be registered by governments which includes civilian ships though most civilians typically travel via larger ships such as colony vessels.
