Great Multiverse Wiki

“Four great empires at each other’s throats for centuries before we came. Just shows sometimes Humanity can’t live."

The Lo’opik Universe is a Universe thst exist in the Multiverse, in this universe Humanity evolved from Earth until a branch of them travelled through a natural wormhole and took them to the New Eden solar system, where the gate of EVE once led them to another part of the universe, humans expanded in all directions at a furious pace, exploring and colonizing rapidly throughout the Eve Cluster.

Then, unexpectedly and seemingly unprovoked, the EVE gate collapsed in an apocalyptic catastrophe of a scale never before witnessed by the human race, ruining the New Eden system in the process. Thousands of small colonies were left in complete isolation to fend for themselves, cut off from the old world. For millennia they endured, clinging to the brink of extinction, and only a handful managed to survive.

Of those that lasted, five great civilizations rose up and become the major empires that, between them, hold the balance of power in the world of EVE. Today, they are known as the Amarr Empire, the Gallente Federation, the Caldari State, the Minmatar Republic, and the Jovian Directorate. Additionally, the world is full of several small, independent factions and states.

For more than a century, the five empires had lived together in relative peace. They've continually strived to maintain this peace, as each faction realizes only too well the grave consequences of a massive inter-stellar war. Recent technological breakthroughs in FTL travel, and the ensuing increase in space travellers, have not broken the fragile peace, until 23361 (1495 NE, also known as 125 YC) when the Combine invaded their universe.

History[]

Pre-history[]

Colonisation and Collapse[]

Archeological evidence implies human beings first visited New Eden roughly around 7703 AD (13165 BNE) after discovering the wormhole The exact mechanism by which humans ventured into the cluster is unknown, though evidence points to the EVE Gate, located in the system from which the cluster takes its name, as the entryway. It appears these early settlers, over a period of roughly one-hundred years, colonized planets throughout the cluster, until a sudden disaster apparently struck them. The exact nature of this disaster is unknown, but it was catastrophic enough that within a few generations, the technology of the settlements had regressed significantly.

Dark Ages[]

Over the intervening centuries, the majority of the settlements died out. A few managed to survive and slowly began to regain their lost technology. The first of these are the people who would come to be known as the Jove. The Jove are notoriously secretive and have shared little of their history. They once inhabited the region known as Curse during their First Empire. Following the contraction of a malady known as the Jovian Disease, they abandoned the area in an attempt to escape the affliction. Roughly 3000 years ago, Miko Bour united them in a Second Empire.

At some other point, at least three other ancient civilizations rose to power. Today, they are known mainly by the artefacts and ruins they left behind, with little knowledge of what caused them to rise and eventually vanish from the cluster's landscape. They are known as the Sleepers, Talocan, and Yan Jung, though the recent discovery of wormhole space has provided tantalizing clues about the fates of the Sleepers and Talocan. A fourth ancient civilization, the Takmahl, arose later as an offshoot of Amarr Empire exiles.
