Sometime after it was joined the Axis of Empires, Kim Jong-II named Kim Jong-chul as his successor (in reality, Kim Jong-un is the successor of Kim Jong-II). Kim Jong-chul heavily reformed the economy and made North Korea one of the wealthiest, most technologically advanced and powerful nations in the world. From this newfound wealth, it acquired new military hardware from the Axis members, increased its military power and developed nuclear weapons.
