Riyo Chuchi is a female Pantoran politician who represented the moon Pantora in the Galactic Senate of the Filo Galactic Republic during the Clone Wars and the First Multiverse War.
Biography[]
Early Career[]
Riyo Chuchi had no previous field experience in personal negotiations, she was far more of an idealist than her fellow Pantoran, Chairman Chi Cho, who had requested the Filo Galactic Republic's protection from the Separatists, resulting in the establishment of Glid Station, an outpost on Pantora's protectorate world of Orto Plutonia. However, the Pantorans did not know that the planet already was populated by a native tribe of Talz. When Glid Station suddenly dropped out of contact, the paranoid Cho assumed Separatists were staging an attack on Pantora and tagged along with the Jedi mission to investigate the case, led by Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi. He brought Riyo Chuchi with them so that he could exert influence over the Jedi.
Orto Plutonia Conflict[]

When the Pantorans discovered the Talz, making their claim to Orto Plutonia nullified and the Talz would be recognized as sovereign people. But Cho refused to accept it, not wanting to lose the protection of an advanced base to the tribal Talz. Initially, he tried claiming the Talz were non-sentient and invaded on to Pantoran sovereignty. When that bid failed, he declared war on the tribe, framing it as a purely local affair, beyond the scope of Chuchi or the Jedi's influence.
Riyo Chuchi was stuck for a solution to prevent a conflict from occurring, but Obi-Wan Kenobi suggested she contact the Pantoran Assembly for support. After she spoke with the Assembly and explained Cho's behavior, the Assembly declared Cho out of order and gave Senator Chuchi the authority needed to settle the dispute. By that time, the Pantorans and the Talz had already gone to war. Casualties from both sides, including Cho himself was fatally wounded by a Talz spear. His dying wish was for Chuchi to continue the battle so that Orto Plutonia would remain a Pantoran possession. She refused and told him of the Assembly's decision. Cho died seconds later, dumbfounded he had been overruled. With Cho dead, Chuchi offered peace to the Talz chieftain Thi-Sen using C-3P0 (Filo) as her translator, the Talz happily accepted her peace offer and called off the war. Chuchi pulled all Pantoran presence off of Orto Plutonia, leaving the Talz alone in peace. Both Skywalker and Kenobi complemented her courage and Chuchi promised Kenobi that she would work to end all war.
War of the Multiverse[]
Combine Invasion[]

During the Combine invasion, Chuchi was on Naboo for the funeral of her friend Havina Vonreg when Naboo was unexpectedly attacked by the Empire of the Combine Race and the Galactic Empire (Viau). During the Attack on Naboo, Chuchi saw many members of her lover Wilius Hydan's family die. Jedi Knight Kaion Hydan, son of Varis Hydan (Filo), died protecting Wilius and Riyo from Combine soldiers during the Naboo attack, but Wilius and Riyo managed to escape to the safe planet of Pantora. During the war, Riyo Cuchi called on the people to fight against the Combine and allied with the Alliance, eventually defeating the Combine and withdrawing from the Filo Universe. After the war, Riyo Cuchi married her one true love, Wilius Hydan, and they named their firstborn son Kaion Chuchi.
Personality and Traits[]
A Pantoran female with long light-purple hair and her race's trademark gold-yellow eyes, blue skin, and yellow tattoos. She was relatively short and rather young during her time as a senator. Riyo Chuchi was a firm believer in the use of diplomacy. When she first became a senator, she had a timid personality and submitted completely to Chairman Cho's more dominating air, attributable to her limited experience and implied age. She was young, insecure, and timid at the start of her career, but following the advise from the Jedi masters Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi during the treaty expedition, she grew into an outspoken and strong leader during the First War, upholding her ideals and challenging her enemies in efforts to maintain a fair and just government.
By the time of the Blockade of Pantora she had become a stronger individual and was able to successfully blackmail a Trade Federation envoy into lifting the blockade. Chuchi was also good friends with Ahsoka Tano and Padmé Amidala.
