The pinnacle of Imperialist starfighter technology, the Scarsiss was developed as a potential replacement for the Krsiss Interceptor, itself a highly advanced fast attack starfighter. Although incapable of reaching the immense straight-line speed of the Krsiss, the Scarsiss featured greatly enhanced manoeuvrability which, when coupled with an exceptionally heavy armament for a ship classed as an interceptor, made for a deadly combination when pitted against enemy starfighters.
