Scrooge McDuck (known by his nieces, nephew and great nephews as Uncle Scrooge) is a male male Faunarian from the planet Shikaagou in the Malica Universe born in the year 1050 BXC (210 NE) to Fergus McDuck and Downy O'Drake. He was the eldest of three children, consisting of himself and two younger sisters, Matilda and Hortense; by the latter, Scrooge would have his closest niece and nephew, Donald and Della Duck. In his youth, Scrooge's first encounter with earned profit came as a young shoeshiner, after completing his first shine, Scrooge was rewarded with a dime. This birthed Scrooge's business philosophy of working hard and honestly, while the dime itself would become the foundation of Scrooge's wealth and his most cherished possession. Scrooge was further inspired to move out of his region of birth in search of his fortune where would eventually find a home in the city of Duckburg.
