The Su-57, also known frequently as the PAK-FA (Perspektivny aviatsionny kompleks frontovoy aviatsii, "Prospective Airborne Complex of Frontline Aviation") (Allied codename: Felon) after the project it is part of, is a fifth-generation fighter aircraft currently under development by Sukhoi. The Su-57 is a fifth generation multirole fighter aircraft and the first operational stealth aircraft for the Russian Air Force. Although most information is classified, sources within in the Sukhoi and Defense Ministry have openly stated that the aircraft will be stealthy, have supercruise capability, incorporate substantial amount of composite materials, and possess advanced avionics such as active phased array radar and sensor fusion.^[11][69][21] It is outfitted with the next generation of air-to-air, air-to-surface, and anti-ship missiles.
