Great Multiverse Wiki

Soulslayer317: So any ideas you have doc on how it will play in certain events?

User:The Fare Doctor: it varies depending upon the era, the first era (the first few centuries) the Federation has to deal with the Nationalist Wars and increasing tensions and bigotries directed at the TransRace people while the government itself is largely not corrupt and quite benevolent all things considered.

General Tropes[]

  • Action Politicians: The Federation has a fair share of politicians who were veterans of the previous wars, especially those from the First Multiverse War, which was particularly notable in the first era of the Federation history but later expanded to the conflicts and wars the Federation fought in, like the Third Multiverse War.
    • Doubly so for some of the Federation's Presidents who also are Jedi themselves.
  • Alien Non-Interference Clause: At least not at first, they set up a non-interference policy of meddling with other cultures, mainly non-spacefaring or introduce the knowledge of interdimensional travel to prevent cultural contamination or inadvertently destroying a civilization, unless they have been meddled but continue to observe until deciding if that certain world is ready prior to joining.
    • They have long dealt with the nanites after establish communication with the machines of extending a sentient being's natural lifespan without needing the Suppression Fields or other means for temporarily solutions for pre-spacefaring civilizations so can safely observe and monitor until preparing for First Contact.
  • Authority Equals Asskicking: Much a surprise to those who not know some from high positions are veterans of many wars, or even still have such enhanced abilities than sit behind desks when needed, this is justified considering the Federation is made up of some factions and civilizations that are made up of strong warriors.
    • Mantius Duviso, a Turian with Devil Fruit powers and head of the military research branch is a formidable foe when demonstrating his ability during the Delta Sword Conflict.
  • Big Good: Given its' effectively the formalized state of the Alliance's defacto status, the Federation obviously take up this role and often cases serves as the good guys, or at least the lease morally abhorrent entity, though it wasn't fully the case by the time of the Delta Sword Conflict
  • Black-and-Gray Morality:
  • Blue is Heroic: Though its' not constant, its' predominate and frequent color scheme involves shades of blue alongside white and black, commonly seen in its' various flags.
  • Bodyguarding a Badass: Not a constant thing granted, but whenever the Federation's President also happen to be a very effective former soldier who even Jedi and other powerful individuals, the President's guards become this, although they're still incredibly effective regardless.
  • Boring, but Practical:
  • Broken Pedestal: Was having this during the 150 years of TransRace Apartheid which was only exasperated by the 43 years of the Confederalist controlling the presidency and executive and their effort slowly tearing the Federation apart, fortunately for the Federation this would end at the end of the Delta Sword Conflict.
  • The Conspiracy: Downplayed and later subverted as the Confederalist Party was secretly trying to dismantle the Federation from within, as it was founded by and supported by former Nationalist Alliance members and or anti-Federation separatists, but they were largely ineffective in the grand scheme of things with it only managing to hold onto the legislature for only one term and even then it was barely at that, let alone the judiciary which had firmly been antagonistic towards them from the getgo but they did managed to seize control of the presidency and executive for 43 years though a combination of their political rivals too divided amongst each other to put up a candidate against the Confederalists and just outright corruption.
    • There were other factions who previously or currently enemies of the Federation that tempted to do the same during it's civil war, but their plans were foiled.
  • Democracy Is Flawed: a frequent and common theme for the Federation, the most obvious of which was the Confederalist raise to power in the first place but a even more infamous example of this being the 150 years of effectively legal discrimination against the TransRace which occurred because anti-TransRace politicians were elected into office in much of the Federation, especially in the universes were the worse of this anti-TransRace bigotries were the most prevalent.
  • The Federation: A far more gray and flawed example then most but it is ultimately a force of good for the Multiverse as a whole and is a legitimate democracy that gives the people of the Multiverse considerably political and civil rights (for the most part) and tries to help its' citizens, while also giving considerable amount of self-rule and self-governance to its' territories, albeit in a complicated manner with universes (Provinces) then galaxies (States), then planets (Counties) and finally individual territories on planets (Districts) with the Federal government itself having more power and responsibilities then all of them.
  • Fictional Political Party: Much like our world, the Federation is a multiparty democracy which has multiple different political parties which range all across the political spectrum but its' largely dominated by seven major political parties, the Federalists (Centre-Right), the Constitutionalists (Centric), the Democratic Socialists, the Unionists, and the Progressives (all three of which are Centre-left and often times form coalitions with each other) with the two outlayers, the Imperialists (Right-Wing and even Fascist) and the Workers (Left-wing and frequently falls into Socialists or Communist camps) being the last two major parties and often cases being the fringe parities compared to the former five.
  • Our Presidents Are Different: The Federation pretty much run the whole list constantly, but most do fall into the lines of President Diversity given how varied they all tend to be, although a plurality of them are human (and even then varies themselves), the rest of various other species and type of being from across the multiverse, ontop of the individual presidents themselves being any gender, any sexual orientation, any race, or religious belief one can think of.
  • Praetorian Guard: The Federation has a rare heroic version of this in the form of the Presidential Guard who... well... in its' the name... protect the President, and VERY EFFECT ones at that however, its' not just them who does this, as the Multiversial Federation's President also has numerous other groups meant to protect them, all of which being other states own Praetorian Guards whom mission has been changed from protecting their former states' leaders to protecting the Federation's President.
  • Reasonable Authority Figures: The Federation has a number of these and frequently has its' main leadership made up of these.
  • The Revolution will not be Civilized: After the Federation's presidency and executive largely fell into the hands of the incredibly corrupt Confederalist party (though never really managed to gain control of the other branches of government), a few groups, such as Delta Sword Initiative, were actively fighting against this development, however the Delta Sword Initiative were effectively trying to replace the still largely democratic government of the Federation with a outright military dictatorship.
