The Thalan Empire is a mysterious civilization claimed to be from another dimension or the Zuit'uji Universe's future where they warned the races not to trust the Terran Alliance for reasons unknown, neither by their appearance or their actual homeworld is even located which has been a mystery to many races.

Apparently, the truth about the Thalans is they actually come from a separate universe that is more chronologically advanced then their counterpart, set in the distant future that the Thalans discovered that the Zuit'uji variation of humans will instigate an even known as the Cycle of Draginol and his Crusade f such cataclysmic destruction that it will not only destroy Zuit'uji universe, but begin a chain reaction that will destroy all of existence. This caused the Thalans with no choice but to cross over, discern the source of the destruction, and stop humanity from destroying the omniverse. Upon the events of the First Multiverse War that had arrived in the universe, the Thalan had chose join the Axis of Empires, mostly with the CIS to help them prevent such a future they come from ever happen, unknowingly this would have which would actually led to the Drengin taking over and enslaving most of the galaxy, forcing Bradley to go to the pocket universe and retrieve the Bane, the device that transformed him into Draginol, and set him on his universe-destroying Crusade in the first place.This came to the realisation that they had caused the event, not the Humans. Because of this, the Thalans sought to make sure Draginol can never rise in the first place.
