- — The Protector's opinion on the Seven.
The Seven are a group of superheroes owned and managed by Vought International, residing in the Seven Tower. They consist of seven superheroes who use their power and influence to gain fame and glory. They are the rival group of the Boys, who will do anything to take them down. The Seven was the most popular and powerful American superhero team with Homelander being the only Supe on the team who was directly created by Vought, every other member of The Seven, excluding Black Noir, was raised outside of Vought's control. While The Seven are believed to operate as a superhero team and stop crimes, in reality, every action they do was only fuel to increase Vought's stock prices and glorify their image with the public.
History[]
The Seven's original lineup for the team were Homelander, Black Noir as the original founders of the team and have recruited Queen Maeve, Mister Marathon, Lamplighter, Translucent, and The Deep to make The Seven as a group of super heroes by Vout International's media brand to the public. Whatever happened to Mister Marathon remained unknown at the time, but following his departure from the team, he was replaced by A-Train as The Seven's speedster. At some time, Lamplighter was forced to retire by Stan Edgar, Vought's enigmatic CEO, and has his position on the team filled by Starlight. Meanwhile, A-Train accidentally kills Robin Ward while high on drugs, prompting her boyfriend Hughie Campbell to join forces with Billy Butcher when the latter offers to help him get payback for her murder. This leads to a series of events that ultimately results in The Boys killing Translucent by shoving a small explosive up his rear. Despite having lost a member, The Seven continued to operate normally and to avoid political panic or let the public know at the time, they covered up Translucent's death to the public by a false report that he was on a secret mission overseas. A-Train's position on The Seven was temporarily threatened by the rival speedster Shockwave when the two participate in a highly televised race. Fearing that Vought will kick him off The Seven if he loses to Shockwave, A-Team cheated by boosting his powers with Compound V and wins the race with a landslide victory.
Dissolved[]
With the remaining members of The Seven that survived the battle were rounded up and trialed for their crimes, the Alliance's scientists used the cure they developed from the viral Compound V to strip them of their powers, there have been issues with public outcry of protestors who still cling to the belief the Seven were heroes and believed the Alliance and their heroes were the actual threat against their way of life. Due the loss of Vought, the Alliance assigned available heroes and enforcers to restore the damage they caused such as the creation of new villains, along with reeducation potential supes to give a better understanding of being actual heroes
